I had to google. I knew exactly what i was looking for but I'm not familiar enough with the target area to get the precise words

Me too (Leastwise, I was reasonably sure without filling in any words), and I was certain I didn't know any with the right word lengths. So I looked for a list of the relevant type, then correlating a detail apparent from the text was able to get it down to two. I was lucky with the one I tried first!

Yikes, Google needed today once I'd got the subject area

Got the idea of what I was looking for but had to Google as no chance.

Today was the first time I've done it on a laptop instead of a phone and it's a much happier experience'

@ErrolTheDragon @MrsElm the clue I saw to yesterday’s was IT unredacted - presumably the algorithm interpreted it as the word it. So my first 4 words were computer, science, software and engineering which essentially gave me the first sentence and much of the first paragraph. (I’m not clever enough to do it your way Errol, where it’s all in your head until you know the answer, plus I quite like the satisfaction of words filling in.)

Now on to today’s - reading the results so far I’ve resigned myself to Google.

I finally googled at 300 guesses. Was just enjoying filling in the blanks as I knew I probably wouldn’t know the entire title

Did the “google in quotes with wiki in the subject” thing once I’d got a unique enough sentence fragment. Which is basically giving up in my eyes, but I’ve never heard of this particular thing, so pretty happy with it.

I'm better than average on this topic, so once I'd worked out what class of thing it was at guess 91, I gave it my best shot for a while until DH googled it and said he'd never heard of it: so I googled a list of the type and found it - indeed I'd literally never heard of it at all.

Only the second time I'd resorted to Googling, and pissed off that it's on this category.

Got the general subject area but knew I’d never get it so googled the answer.

Took ages to even get the area. Know little of the area and never heard of the target, plenty of Google involved.

Got the approximate area and the first word but had to resort to Google.

I really don't think it's cheating if you use Google - we can't all know everything there is to know on Wikipedia! And after all, you have to have a pretty good idea of the subject to know what to Google!

193 guesses, accuracy 26% - basically a lot of faffing about in the wrong areas.

This seemed to be cut off part way through possibly due to a link in the original. Has that happened before
