Would you go to a spa day alone?

I love spa days with friends but considering going to one on my own. It’s quite a lot of money so my friends would probably not want to go anyway but I have a sum put aside which was my 2020 Christmas present from DH. I like my own company & would be comfortable alone. Anyone else feel the same or would you always want company?

Yes I did a whole weekend alone at a spa and it was lovely!

Skinnermarink · 31/05/2022 19:18

God no, I don’t want company at a spa day and I actively avoid going when chatty groups or couples are likely to be there too. I just did the AquaSana alone at Center Parcs and would happily have locked one particular group of friends in the sauna, it was not relaxing having to listen to their conversations and laughter at all.

I really wish they did dedicated spa days for solo people!

Yes I have done several times. It is bliss. A fluffy robe, lovely treatments and a good book. That's all you need.

Yes I used to every couple months as a treat to myself when I was working a lot. I love it.

It's one of those things like the cinema, where people think sometimes it's strange to go alone but it's actually the most logical!

Take a book, enjoy!

summer712 · 31/05/2022 19:20

It's the only way I'd go

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 31/05/2022 19:31

I would never go with anyone. It’s bliss not having to be concerned about anything or anyone but yourself for once.

sageandbasil · 31/05/2022 19:33

100%! It would be lovely!

purpledagger · 31/05/2022 19:34

absolutely, yes.

So much nicer to just see to myself.

MrsMigginsCat · 31/05/2022 19:35

My adult DC bought me a spa day for my 50th. DH is now making noises about coming as well which will ruin it. I want to go, relax, read and not talk to anyone!

FuncaMunca · 31/05/2022 19:43

This is my preferred way to spa! You can have your treatments at your own pace and catch up on your reading during the intervals Smile But I'm the kind of person who really likes doing things solo occasionally eg cinema, meals out, etc. and I appreciate not everyone does this

hattie43 · 31/05/2022 19:44

A solo spa day is perfect , enjoy .

emmathedilemma · 31/05/2022 19:44

If I liked spa days I’d go on my own

Greatoutdoors · 31/05/2022 19:45

I’ve done it and loved it. Total relaxation!

Holly60 · 31/05/2022 19:54

Definitely - sounds lovely

DisgruntledPelican · 31/05/2022 19:57

Yes, it’s better than going with other people. Read, snooze, daydream.

FloweryCurtainTwitcher · 31/05/2022 19:58

Every week. I am a member of one.

countdowntonap · 31/05/2022 20:01

Yes - frequently go alone as live 5 minutes from a spa that I have a membership to. Sitting by the outdoor pool with waitress service as I read a magazine is heaven after work. Lots of people are there solo.

User48751490 · 31/05/2022 20:02

Yes I have done this once. Really enjoyed myself.

mnahmnah · 31/05/2022 20:05

I always go alone. Either just the day or overnight. Read my book. Relax without having to constantly interact with whoever I would go with. Love it.

PatchworkElmer · 31/05/2022 20:07

I go on my own more than I go with others. Glorious.

tortiecat · 31/05/2022 20:09

I'm fairly self-conscious and don't really do much on my own but I LOVED a half spa day on my own the last time I went. Didn't feel out of place at all, even having breakfast and lunch on my own. Enjoy 😊

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 31/05/2022 20:14

I went to my local spa yesterday for treatments on my own and it was bliss. I went early and enjoyed a quiet coffee reading my book then had my treatments. It's heaven as there's no phone signal either!

NotMeekNotObedient · 31/05/2022 20:34

Spa days are much better on ones own!

balalake · 31/05/2022 20:40

I have done, but not in the UK. I can get 100% peace and quiet as for example in a German sauna or steam room it is silence.

reluctantbrit · 31/05/2022 21:15

I only go alone. I don't want chatter and gossip, I want peace and quite.

As much as I like my friends, I do other things with them but not a spa day.
