I am also doing Junior Semantle. That was tricky today too. Or rather, my route was. It uses 'simpler' words but is as frustrating as the main one if you end up on the wrong route to the top.

The clue upthread for 998 works for 993 too.

I solved Semantle #121 in 59 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 3.26. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #19. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 51.23 (993/1000). semantle.com/

Clue for 960 is that you might describe the target word as '[something] and 960'. That was my first thought about the link between the words when I finally got it!
