Am I weird - Sleeping position

Please help me and DH settle a disagreement!

He has just (lightheartedly) had a go at me for my sleeping position. Saying that it's completely weird and is thinking about getting a 2nd duvet for the bed because of it.

I'm now in bed and after getting comfy and into my (don't even think about it) position I think he may be right.

I really snuggle down on the pillow so head is practically pushing the pillow up so it's almost like I'm wearing it like a crown. I am on my side but tilted over so I'm kind of on the front of my hip/tummy. One leg completely straight and my other knee pulled almost up to my chest. The big problem for DH is that I then pull the duvet up so that the whole back and top of my head is covered but my face is still visible. This causes an issue for him as when I pull the duvet up at the corner it pulls it off his feet and legs and it pisses him off!

Apparently I do this even when it's really hot, although all my body is out of the duvet but I still wrap the duvet around my head....

Is DH right in saying I'm weird or is this sleeping position more common than he thinks?!

It sounds a bit weird I'm afraid 😅

Penguintears · 21/05/2022 22:02

Yep. Weird.

Overthebow · 21/05/2022 22:02

A bit, and yabu for pulling the duvet up when you know it pulls it off your DH.

CaptainMyCaptain · 21/05/2022 22:04

I think I sleep the same way as you. The knee up relieves the trapped nerve in my back. I also put one arm over my head which isn't really comfortable but I still have to do it.

StupidUsernameUnavailable · 21/05/2022 22:06

🤣🤣 thank you. He's rather pleased with himself at the moment.

@Overthebow I don't do it to intentionally. 6 nights out of 7 I am fast asleep when he comes to bed and when I do it in the dead of night I tend to be asleep so don't know I've done it until he kicks his legs and yanks the duvet back!

Im an F. With duvet pulled up to neck (and window open and fan on, invisibly)

Am I weird - Sleeping position
RunningFromInsanity · 21/05/2022 22:07

obviously

shivermetimbers77 · 21/05/2022 22:09

I sleep like that too and I’m a big fan of having two separate duvets on a double bed.

StupidUsernameUnavailable · 21/05/2022 22:13

@RunningFromInsanity

Yep F for me too, although knee slightly higher up and with the free arm/hand holding the duvet around my comfortably cocooned head! 🤣🤣

Perfectly reasonable. How can anyone be expected to sleep without their ears safely covered by the duvet? Things might crawl in otherwise.

ofwarren · 21/05/2022 22:17

Yanbu
I sleep exactly the same, always have.
My mum has photos of me sleeping like this.

StupidUsernameUnavailable · 21/05/2022 22:21

@Willdoitlater earplugs!

@ofwarren excellent. I have always done it too. I look like Kenny from South Park apparently 🤣

I see no issues?

I sleep like f mostly except for my hand mostly going to sleep, pins and needles.
Plus no quilt over my entire body cept for my head and neck.

Steelesauce · 21/05/2022 22:31

I'm in this exact position right now. I'm single though so no one to bitch about my weirdness

ATadConfused · 21/05/2022 22:37

I'm a D/F and a complete twat with the duvet, but not like you, more on/off/half on/feet out. I wouldn't want to sleep with me.

TheIsaacs · 21/05/2022 22:37

Yep, also sleep in this position, or the opposite tilted on to my back with the pillow down behind my should to prop me up.

definitely get separate duvets, it’s one of the reasons we’re still able to share a bed!

Fedupsotired · 21/05/2022 22:38

I'm the same but without the crown!

Fedupsotired · 21/05/2022 22:39

We have the duvet the size up from our bed so a king size duvet on our double bed

RaininSummer · 21/05/2022 22:40

I sleep very similarly. The knee seems to provide stability and stop me squashing my boobs. I pull the duvet right up and just leave an air hole to breathe. Two duvets needed.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 21/05/2022 22:42

I'm an F too but laying on my left side and I throw the blankets on and off, DH complains that I'm like the spin cycle of a washing machine, rolling over all night. Might explain why I wake up every morning tired 😂

LowlandLucky · 21/05/2022 22:52

I sleep the same way, buy another duvet

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 21/05/2022 22:55

I need a diagram.

your DH’s poor cold feet need a second duvet.

CormoranStrike · 21/05/2022 22:56

Apart from the duvet in head I do much the same - I don’t use a pillow and often don’t bother with the quilt.

we have a king size bed with two double quilts on it, so we can mix and match

We have the size up too so a super king duvet on a king size bed. It resolved the issue of me being hogging the duvet!
