Would you go public with a big lottery win?

The winners of the £184 million lotto win have gone public, a couple in their 40’s with small children. They say they went public as they want to help so many friends and family and it would have been difficult for them to keep it a secret.
Good luck to them, I say, I hope they have a great adventure on it but I don’t think I would ever want to go public, I would give lots away to family, friends and charities then slink off somewhere away from the hubbub of life.
Would you ever go public like them?

Someone in my hometown won, a fair few million. They didn’t go public yet it was common knowledge throughout the town and further. Gossip soon spreads.

I wouldn’t go public but I would assume people would find out, not nationwide but locally.

Utter madness to go public. I'm not sure the press try to hunt down those who choose not to...an anonyomous person in the UK won £170m a few months ago and that hasn't happened.
If we won that kind of money I would tell no-one the real amount, not even the kids. They'd have a nice suprise when I kick the bucket 😁

I wouldn't tell anyone apart from DH and my parents. If people commented on my new holiday home on the Amalfi coast or private island (!!) I would say that I had won a little money but it was all spent now (and would continue to say that in response to any begging letters or requests from friends and strangers).
