Why are you on mumsnet in the small hours?

Just reading a new thread that was posted just before 1am and it got me wondering why you’re on mumsnet in the middle of the night? Or maybe it’s not nighttime where you are?

I’ll go first; I’m doing a night feed with DC! 😴 (01:38am England)

I'm working the night shift so I'm mumsnetting during my break

Whyarewehardofthinking · 12/05/2022 03:28

Ear infection that is throbing and because I had a nap when I got gome from work I'm now trying to catch up on what I should have done this evening; marking mock A level papers.

I'm accross the pond, only 9pm here

Me too - but when I AM on in the small hours (for me), it's because MN is the only thing that reliably gets me back to sleep 😄

I'm recovering from an operation and woke with a symptom then the smoke alarm went off for no reason

Potospi · 12/05/2022 03:40

I'm always up late, tend to go to bed around 6am

ViennaDreams · 12/05/2022 03:40

Can't remember the last time I slept through. Waking up several times a night and fretting about random stuff is totally normal for me!

PopGoesBang · 12/05/2022 03:42

Woke up for a wee, panicked I didn't lock the front door, came back to bed, dog not stolen my side as normal, then panicked dog had somehow got out the closed front door. Promptly burst into tears. Pregnancy hormones at their best! Dog looked at me like I was crazy and highly annoyed I woke him.

@Newhome121 Don't feel guilty for spending g time with you DC. Your mil should appreciate the break and reign in her guilt tripping. However, also don't feel guilty for her having him for the odd day here and there so you can focus on something else too. Be that some you time or housework. That's ok too.

Everyone anxious or with poorly little ones or themselves, I hope it all eases soon and sleep returns in a positive way soon.

3.42 England.

Just dropped eldest DS off at school for his 1st school trip abroad, to Italy. God love those teachers with 100+ students!
Need to be up in 3 hours for work, so trying to decide if it's worth going back to bed? Or maybe take advantage of the extra hours and get a wash done?? But no, I'm MN-ing trying to stay awake - nothing productive with my extra hours 🙃 3.45am

dreamyunicorn · 12/05/2022 03:53

DC woke for a wee half an hour ago and is struggling to get back to sleep and keeps shouting me so pointless trying to sleep just yet.

Thinking of work, money and stressing I will miscarry this baby like my last (currently 4 weeks pregnant).

England.

msssm · 12/05/2022 03:59

I have a really bad sleep pattern. Must do better. Staying off mumsnet would be a start.
💐 for all.

LesMimas · 12/05/2022 04:00

Horrible anxiety, someone in a position of power ad influence has been very unfair and unkind about my dc and I have no way of addressing it without a massive fallout.I can't deal with any fallout now so I am feeling voiceless and very angry.

Period related insomnia here too. Miserable.

PeachTea1 · 12/05/2022 04:21

Scary dream about a house fire, woke myself up and need a distraction before I try to sleep again.

Libertybear80 · 12/05/2022 04:33

I've got a virus that feels like a mini flu. I ache all over and I'm running a high temperature. Plus a bad headache. Can't get back off to sleep.

4.53am, England.

I have a one year old that still wakes up often overnight and is taking ages to settle.

Woke up an hour ago and can’t get back to sleep. Been googling the new job adverts from my workplace.

kennycat · 12/05/2022 05:20

It’s a Wednesday night. I’ve not slept straight through on a weds in the2.5 years since I got the call saying my dad had collapsed. By the time I made it up the m6 he was dead. And my mum had been through the whole thing including administering cpr alone. Can’t sleep wednesdays now. Sorry for depressing response!
