Did you see Michael Gove's appearance on TV this morning?

Bloody hell.

I would allege that his ‘wacky’ performance indicates he was off his actual tits. Whether high on life, or something else, I really couldn’t say…

Quite funny really that they call themselves conservatives.

rookiemere · 11/05/2022 15:26

@SpindleInTheWind I've seen pictures of Sarah Vine recently and she looks about 10 years younger with a real glow to her. Clearly formally ending the marriage was the right thing for her.

Bluevelvetsofa · 11/05/2022 15:27

He’s odd and has been for a long time. I lived in his constituency and he has zero self awareness.

Manicsfan · 11/05/2022 15:35

Jesus fuck. Addiction hiding in plain sight.
Michael Gove and Boris always look terrible. Like Tennants Super Lager for breakfast unhealthy, hungover. How are they getting away with it?

Bretonbear · 11/05/2022 15:38

They are laughing at us.

MayorDusty · 11/05/2022 16:06

I'm picking adult nappy wearing in the sweepstakes.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 16:29

You're all trying to distract from the triumphant Queen's speech with a plethora of proposals to help the hard-pressed, in addition to the PM's excellent advice to shop smarter. As with Kier's blatant attempt to take the oxygen of the the room with his performative proto-resignation, Boris oxygen probably won't be stolen.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 16:37

And when was the last time man of the people Keir made a popular culture impression on the hoof in an interview? Common touch. Hardly.

WakeWaterWalk · 11/05/2022 16:41

Did the PM actually advise to shop smarter?😂
I might have to reassess my unilateral Johnson news embargo.

user1471538283 · 11/05/2022 16:42

It doesnt surprise me hes a cokehead. But when you've got boris in charge all sorts of shit trickles down which annoys me more.

We would be sacked for less than this.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 16:52

Backed up by George Eustace Eustice? 'telling struggling households they could manage their budget better through the cost-of-living crisis by "going for some of the value brands products" when food shopping'

practical real world advice unlike Keir's airy fairy inconsistent tax cut, tax rise technocratic advice. People would have saved thousands if they'd only thought of going for some value brands earlier. Combined with the Chancellor's tax cut in a couple of years when things will be more predictable, it's sensible advice and practical action from a government that feels everyone's pain.

Zilla1 · 11/05/2022 16:52

No, it's wealth that trickles down like a shower of gold and silver.

Roselilly36 · 11/05/2022 16:53

@Bretonbear 100%

Classica · 11/05/2022 16:53

Another Tory MP, Lee Anderson, said today "There is not this massive use for food banks in this country. We have got generation after generation who cannot cook properly. They cannot cook a meal from scratch. They cannot budget."

So glad to have them dispensing their pearls of in-touch wisdom.

Bit of a shame recently, he was at one point about the only person in the cabinet who appeared to have a brain cell or two. Looks like he's fried them.

You must never have spoken to a teacher.

He's been totally bobbins for decades!

Marcipex · 11/05/2022 17:24

He’s turned into his own spitting image puppet.

roarfeckingroarr · 11/05/2022 17:25

I know Gove. That's just him unfiltered. Hungover at worst

twat! I bet he’s king of the kitchen and managing a tight budget

But I do have a question

who took home economics and nutrition out of schools?
some of the younger people in my team never had a cooking lesson at school, they’d had the cookers taken out the year before they started.

if their parents didn’t teach them, and now they are parents who don’t know ….

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 11/05/2022 17:32

This video is two years old, but doesn’t seem to date!

EvilPea · 11/05/2022 17:33

That’s not me defending his comment by the way!
mid youve a tenner to feed the family on, your going for stuff that takes minimal fuel to cook, and things you know will fill them up and they will eat. Not a bolognaise that will do you for a week but has used £20 worth of fuel to cook

whyohehy · 11/05/2022 17:38

I just watched it and I didn't think he was on anything. I think he's just naturally talks in an expressive way.

When he was in Education he was absolutely dreadful. However, when he went to Justice it was a bit of a pleasant surprise, in that he actually made one or two sensible decisions. Mind you, I think he came just after Grayling, and anyone looks intelligent in comparison to him.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 11/05/2022 17:59

I can't stand Gove but I'm sceptical that anyone reckless enough to do live TV off his tits on coke on a weekday morning would be able to function as a cabinet minister - even in Boris' cabinet. Tory HQ is pretty ruthless - if he were that much of a hopeless addict, they would (metaphorically) have handled him the loaded revolver and the glass of whisky by now.
