This is perfect for my "don't want to live there but would love a holiday there" list. Gorgeous.

statetrooperstacey · 22/04/2022 16:24

downstairs puts me in mind of a Wetherspoons .

ZwayLo · 22/04/2022 16:25

The kitchen is really badly done - so unsympathetic to the rest of the property.

Lots of woodwork! Not my cup of tea but I wouldn't refuse to live there Smile

ButtockUp · 22/04/2022 16:33

Not very homely if I'm honest.
A bit cold and cavernous.

DeanStockwellsBunny · 22/04/2022 16:39

If I give the vendor £10 deposit do you think they will hold it for me until I win the lotto and learn how to look after carp and ponds ?

I find it hard to define "gorgeous but not for me" but your definition hits the nail on the head.
I know it's sympathetic to the building's original use, but to me they've overdone the Industrial vibe

ProudAlly · 22/04/2022 16:55

Totally in agreement about the kitchen. Small and out of kilter with the rest of the house. Some of the decor is waaay over the top and too antlery, but I think I could knock it into shape given a chance Grin

RedMake88 · 22/04/2022 16:55

I see it’s a bit industrial but not sure how else they might have done it? It’s not one if have you have kids. But still just such an interesting property

I hate it.

BruceAndNosh · 22/04/2022 17:03

I think the black kitchen is in the annexe.
The main house kitchen seems to consist of a short sink run and a couple of freestanding work islands. (pictures 9 and 12)

HemanOrSheRa · 22/04/2022 17:07

Isn't the grey kitchen in the self contained annexe?

Ah, yes, I think you are correct. That is a more cohesive designed kitchen but very minimalist to the point of feeling mean. Like workhouse vibe.

I agree, it is very antlery.

Cross post! That's what I think.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 22/04/2022 17:11

Such a disappointing renovation! It should have been amazing but it looks nasty.

Chikapu · 22/04/2022 17:16

Looks too cold and uncomfortable for my taste.

darlingdodo · 22/04/2022 17:18

TheYearOfSmallThings, agree - it could have been beautiful but is just a bit meh. Seems 'empty' and characterless.

Hope it's not yours OP, if it is, sorry....

Bigboysmademedoit · 22/04/2022 17:32

I think it’s lovely! 😀

WallaceinAnderland · 22/04/2022 19:14

The floorplan doesn't work for me. It says 5 bedrooms but one is an attic room and another you have to walk through to get up to the attic rooms. So it really only has the one decent bedroom on lower ground. On the main ground floor living room, there's no loo! You'd be forever having to run upstairs. Not for me I'm afraid.

This!

Storage space? Bookshelves? WTF do they put everything?

TheChosenTwo · 22/04/2022 19:26

I’d rip it all out and start again to be honest! Not my cup of tea as it is but huge potential (for how I’d like it obvious, others would happily move in as is and it’s not the worst of course!!!), the outside space is lovely.

Blossomtoes · 22/04/2022 19:33

Have I imagined it or is there are bathroom marooned all by itself on the top floor?

BarbaraofSeville · 22/04/2022 20:07

It looks like the pubs that are next to Premier Inns.

FrancescaContini · 22/04/2022 20:09

All that water…a bit terrifying.

Honeyroar · 22/04/2022 20:11

I agree too.

if I had that kind of money there are lots of other properties I’d choose above that.

ivykaty44 · 22/04/2022 20:17

RedMake88 cycled past this house a few times, its been up for sale recently - last summer as I went home and was noisy looking at the sale pictures on right move
