On Google maps our ndn is mopping the path in the street!

Soupercat · 20/04/2022 09:53

Near our last house was a Thai kickboxing place, apparently. It was obviously just someone's house and I guess that was the registered business address. Never saw any ninja kickboxers floating around sadly.

There's a holistic vet, a fish farm and what looks to be a lovely wooden toy and craft supplier which I will note for niece and nephew birthdays.

thecoffeewasthething · 20/04/2022 10:01

An independent radio broadcaster apparently! Operating out of a high-rise flat.

Soupercat · 20/04/2022 10:02

Ooh. A drone place. Just seen

No. But quite a few who sell drug, allegedly.

Lovely place 😫

miamiaow · 20/04/2022 10:22

Not that it says “weed grower” on google maps.

There are a lot of dodgy “printing” shops used as fronts for drugs. I went into one once to try and get a file printed.

The man looked embarrassed and said, “we don’t actually do printing…..”

Soupercat · 20/04/2022 10:31

Really? How awkward!!

Ooh, interesting.
There's a travel company (aka taxi driver), jewellery design, mountain climbing instructor, cake decorator, drum instructor, and a couple of IT support businesses.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 20/04/2022 14:33

Tractor showroom is probably the oddest.

Reasonably near a business park so all sorts of stuff.

Thethingswedoforlove · 20/04/2022 14:35

How can you see these please?

MaryAndHerNet · 20/04/2022 14:39

There's a.. ahem.. 'massage' parlour...

No cupcakes or wax melts...
Me thinks that's more a middle class type of area business..

LowbrowVictoriana · 20/04/2022 14:49

Well, my ghast is absolutely flabbered.
I live in a village in the arse end of nowhere, so I thought "no way", but it turns out there was (according to Google maps) a wax melts and smelly things business just along the road! I checked the website that came up and the address is wrong: the actual business is a few miles away, but with a similar address.

There's also, genuinely, a holistic therapies business, and various luxury cupcakes, macarons and brownies!

emmathedilemma · 20/04/2022 14:50

Nothing exciting - a couple of AirBnB/ holiday let type properties, a property maintenance contractor, a closed driving school, photographer, and a polish-english translator. Strangely the neighbour we're convinced is a drug dealer isn't listed ;)

AmbushedByCake · 20/04/2022 14:55

Apparently there's a dance school and a carpet showroom in my highly residential area! But no wax melts. What even are wax melts?

We go to our local tractor showroom about once a month. DS loves it and the staff don't mind!

TonksInPurple · 20/04/2022 15:07

me with two businesses, dog walker, film production company, joiner, photographer.

Elfsumflowerpig · 20/04/2022 15:09

No, but we have a wedding singer.

Greyhare · 20/04/2022 15:09

I have a Blacksmiths, Car Dismantlers/Scrap Yard, Caravan Sales and Hire, Caravan Site and a Flying Museum and a Kennels/Cattery, no wax melts or cupcake makers near me.

rurbane · 20/04/2022 15:14

Yes, if I zoom in, there's a wax melt seller a couple of roads down. Also a 'Blinds and curtains direct' seller, a podiatrist, 2 dog walkers and a personal trainer. No cupcakes as 2 very popular bakers nearby.

ScrambledSmegs · 20/04/2022 15:27

Lots of X Solutions -type named businesses plus someone who seems to be running a timber yard from a modest sized house.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 20/04/2022 15:30

We have some wax melt business, cupcakes, several dog walkers (including me!), some web designers and more.

My friend does this. They are a trained instructor and usually work at the club. But at the end of the garden they have a 'home office' type building which is actually a martial arts studio where they do provate lessons. You'd never know from the outside

pussycatlickinglollyices · 20/04/2022 15:46

Window cleaner, Hair dresser (garage conversion with wallpaper and window) Beautician (garage, with garage door) 🤷‍♀️

DH cleans the windows and I've just cut my own hair. Grin
