Pram colour debate

Before I start...I want to acknowledge that I know this is a trivial matter and I am counting my blessings I'm lucky enough to get this far before any trolls want to take over!
I'm just wondering if this would mess with anyone elses head or am I being ridiculous?
Two prams one navy one grey...
Love both!
Grey cons - I feel it looks dull and a bit like school uniform
Navy cons - I'll attach a photo whereby if using carry seat in frame the carry seat is black and handle navy
Would this bother anyone else or is it just me? Would it sway you?
Am I being ridiculous?

It would bother me too. But I actually prefer the grey anyway.

bloodywhitecat · 09/04/2022 22:41

It would bother me as well.

Legoisthebest · 09/04/2022 22:47

It really doesn't need to colour match!
You do realise the pram will end up with a brightly coloured, dribble and crumb covered blanket which has Peppa Pig/Winnie the Pooh/Mickey Mouse printed on it.

Navy prams look so classy and smart but with the black it's a no from me, personally. I'd go for the grey or find a different make/model of pram.

mindutopia · 09/04/2022 22:52

I can barely notice the difference. Honestly, you only use the car seat for like the first 4-6 months. No one will care. Pick the one you overall like the look of and would use for the next 3 years.

ChocolateRiver · 09/04/2022 22:53

The navy/black thing doesn’t bother me and you probably won’t be pushing them around in the car seat for too long anyway. I like them both, but the navy just tops it.

Mossstitch · 09/04/2022 22:55

It would bother me, the black and navy don't look right together at all but the grey is lovely😍 mind you, you should have seen the stuff I had for mine in the 80s/90s mostly second hand that I didn't like at all🤷

Pyri · 09/04/2022 22:57

The navy/ black combo is horrible, definitely the grey!

Over my dead body

I would go with the navy, as it looks nicer, especially with the pushchair seat option (which you'll have on for longer). I can see what you mean about the carseat, but there'll be not that many times you use that alone, and you can always have navy accessories with it eg blanket and bag.

Howmanydaysuntilfriday · 09/04/2022 23:00

If you like the grey get the grey if you like the navy get the navy. I wouldn't worry and out the car seat being black on the navy frame as you aren't supposed to have your baby in the car seat long so having the car seat on the frame should be minimal and avoided really

bigyellowTpot · 09/04/2022 23:00

i think I prefer the navy. does it convert to a push chair type too. the handle/car seat thing is a bit annoying but I don't really think it would bother me nor you after a while. I hate choosing between colours though as I'm so indecisive. I had the maxi-cosi loola original models for both my dc bloody loved them prams.

RuthW · 09/04/2022 23:00

Yes it would bother me. Grey is much nicer

rosiebl · 09/04/2022 23:01

Do you have pictures with the pram seat instead of carry cot?

Legoisthebest · 09/04/2022 23:05

Pyri yeah all new parents say that.
But it will happen....it will. You won't even know where the blanket came from. It will just one day exist and must never ever be lost. The day it has to go in the washing machine will be a long and emotional day for your child Grin

maryberryslayers · 09/04/2022 23:07

Definitely grey

MyDcAreMarvel · 09/04/2022 23:10

You will only use it for six months before getting a buggy so don’t over think it. The navy/black does look awful though.

smine1 · 09/04/2022 23:11

I couldn't do the navy/black it sticks out like a sore thumb.

EatingToast · 09/04/2022 23:12

Wouldn't bother me. I had same dilemma with grey/navy and went with grey. Don't regret it. Problem with mine is pram basket is grey so looks odd with black car seat in frame. Luckily don't tend to use car seat except in car. Definitely easier to mix grey with other neutrals

IstayedForTheFeminism · 09/04/2022 23:18

It might not. It didn't here.
FlambeTomato · 09/04/2022 23:26

The navy with the black handle would bother me too. We went for grey knowing it would be easy to pass on / use for any future children regardless of their sex (despite me falling in love with a bright BRIGHT blue number)

bigyellowTpot · 09/04/2022 23:27

also I think the seat units seem really small on these type of modern prams now, not sure how they're meant to last until the child is 3 most babies look too big for them by the time they're around 18mnths. the loolas we had we a really good size seat unit and lasted until dc were over 3.

GirlOfTudor · 09/04/2022 23:39

I usually love grey and navy prams, but neither colour looks nice on that pram tbh.

Will you even use the car seat with the frame? I see lots of people do it, but I never did. I found it far easier to take baby out of their seat and place them in their carrycot, than to take the whole car seat in and out of the car constantly, making sure it's fitted safely.

Ultimately, it's literally just a bit of colour on a handle. There will be 1,000,000 more important things on your mind once your baby arrives than this.

DoucheCanoe · 09/04/2022 23:41

Navy is nicer and the black/navy wouldn't bother me at all infact my whole wardrobe is basically navy or black - I didn't realise it was a thing! BUT the grey will hide more marks/stains as it won't stand out as much.

@FlambeTomato I picked blue prams for both of mine (boy and girl) as it's my favourite colour, no one cares - if there's a next time get that bright blue pram for you Grin

Ostryga · 09/04/2022 23:47

You shouldn’t really be using the car seat on the pram anyway, sitting in a car seat for long periods of time is dangerous as they can constrict tiny airways. If you’re out and about out baby in the carry cot so they can lay flat.

And as others have said you’ll get sick of a big pram after 6 months and get a lightweight buggy anyway so I wouldn’t spend a ton of worry tbh.

Curiousmum38 · 09/04/2022 23:47

@rosiebl - I have attached the seat photos
