What's for dinner?

I am so so far out of inspiration but might make spagetti meatballs for the DCs and have some pumpkin filled ravioli for me. But I have a farewell for a colleague at 4 today and she is putting on an afternoon tea so may not have anything at all after that.

I'd love some ideas from others, especially for the weekend. Family friendly and plain ideas for a super restricted SEN child also extremely welcome. :)

Tonight we are having pork steaks with a sweet chilli and halloumi and red pepper bake.
So far this week we’ve had
Burgers and wedges
Chilli
Tortalini pasta with homemade sauce
Toast chicken with salad and crusty bread
Weekend will be meatballs and spaghetti on Saturday and sausages with a vegetable gratin and sweet potatoes on Sunday

It’s hard to mix it up and find interesting meals to prepare week in week out. I love threads like this for inspiration- I’ll be watching with interest!

Tonight we have sea bass fillets with a lemon, caper and parsley sauce, baked broccoli and sautéed potatoes .

Tomorrow it's chilli prawns in linguine pasta with freshly made garlic bread.

I have shockingly poor mental health and find that when I am able to focus, cooking really helps as I love to do it.

Whattodoniw · 08/04/2022 07:34

Oh and for the children, it's homemade chicken burgers with sweet corn coblets and skinny fries...

Madre123 · 08/04/2022 14:39

Chinese chicken, steamed broccoli and potatoes here

FindingMeno · 08/04/2022 14:41

No idea as I haven't got anything that will stretch to the two additional people tonight.
Hoping no one is hungry!

devildeepbluesea · 08/04/2022 14:43

Simply Cook burrito bowl tonight. I just happen to have all the ingredients and I have found SC meals to be bloody delicious all the time.

Littlemissprosecco · 08/04/2022 14:45

Fish fajitas!
Crispy spicy breaded fish with sliced tomatoes cucumbers avocados cheese etc.. all roll up on a wrap
If kids prefer simple it works well with fish fingers!

mrsm43s · 08/04/2022 14:49

I picked up some reduced scallops at the supermarket, so I've had a quick change of plan!

Instead of baked feta pasta, which was on the meal plan, I'm going to do pan fried scallops, with lardons, cherry plum tomatoes and rocket tossed through linguine (or spaghetti if I don't have linguine in the cupboard) drizzled with garlic infused EVOO. Kids are going to have pizza (also from the reduced section at the supermarket) with cherry toms and cucumber on the side.

MonkeyPuddle · 08/04/2022 14:50

Left over spag bol on toast tonight.
Shredded chicken, pitta, salad and roast veg tomorrow

ODFOx · 08/04/2022 14:53

DH cooking tonight, hurrah! Pork steaks and cauliflower cheese I think.

BlueSpottedGiraffe · 08/04/2022 15:07

Egg, chips and beans!

DiaryofWimpyMumm · 08/04/2022 15:11

Steak chips and beans or spaghetti depending upon what's in the cupboard

ISpyCobraKai · 08/04/2022 15:13

Instant noodles, because that's what I fancy, one pack of curry, one pack of chicken, mixed together with lots of Frank's hot sauce.

Krabby · 08/04/2022 15:17

Tonight- Homemade chicken katsu with sticky rice and veg sticks - the kids favourite!

With a (shop bought) katsu curry sauce in a bowl on the side because they don't like wet and dry foodstuffs mixed or touching 🤦🏻‍♀️

Tomorrow- the hairy bikers recipe for braised steak in gravy with fat chips and peas.

linerforlife · 08/04/2022 15:28

Thai green curry with rice and... peas Grin because I thought we had broccoli but we don't Hmm

BlancmanegeBunny · 08/04/2022 16:42

I have pizza dough rising in the kitchen ready to make pizzas later.

DS has autism and severe learning difficulties, pizza is his favorite food and he "helps" put the toppings on.

nearlyspringyay · 08/04/2022 17:28

Pho. My kids' favourite.

SheSaysShush · 08/04/2022 17:39

Homemade Thai salmon fish cakes with spinach, peas and mangetout.

There is a post on Feed The World which is a meal planning post. I get most of my inspiration from there.

There is a really good recent post just for veggie ideas too.

SheSaysShush · 08/04/2022 17:39
