Enhanced dbs check

Poppy33h · 05/04/2022 17:52

Hi,

Wish to apply for a position in a school. My ex made a malicious claim about me to social services. They came over and did an assessment and closed the case as no issues, my children were fine and no issues what so ever. They were NOT put in need or protection. Does anyone know if this will show on enhanced DBS check as want to apply for a TA position.
Moving away for a fresh start after an abusive relationship so want to leave it in my past. No criminal record or any encounters with the police bar my ex being abusive to me only which I got a referral to SPLITS for and legal aid. Thanks!

I had similar and it didn’t show on my enhanced DBS.

springlike · 05/04/2022 17:54

I'm pretty sure that won't show up. It's usually previous cautions, convictions etc.

bottleofbeer · 05/04/2022 18:02

Nope, it won't show up.

Poppy33h · 05/04/2022 18:09

Really!!?? Been having sleepless nights as moving away to get away from my past so didn’t want it brought up etc as my girls were Case closed as soon as they saw them xx

Daffodilsdance · 05/04/2022 18:09

No , I promise you 100% it doesn’t show up .

Poppy33h · 05/04/2022 18:12

Oh phew! I know child protection does but we didn’t even get classed as ‘In need’ as girls are 💯 happy and safe - just him trying to stress me out - it worked!!! Been so worried it would impact my future and moving away!

No its to show convictions /cautions of child abuse, (or other criminal convictions, but only related to children that is a causefor concern) as no police case was brought then it will be clear. Even if social services were involved for a period of time for whatever reason.
Ive had many enhanced dbs done over the years.

bottleofbeer · 05/04/2022 18:19

I've got to have enhanced DBS as well as well as police vetting where they screen members of your family. I'm checked to the nth degree. I promise yours won't show up. Relax x

Poppy33h · 05/04/2022 18:40

@bottleofbeer have you had social ever involved and done an initial assessment? Just wondering for people who have had the highest checks done - really appreciate all your support guys - going through court to relocate so stressful
Times as he won’t consent the school
Move and only 35 mins away - that’s what he’s like 🙈

Yes I have. Had a malicious call out.

Poppy33h · 05/04/2022 19:08

Thank you - will try and put that trouble to bed - I have been worrying myself silly over it!

bottleofbeer · 05/04/2022 19:16

I understand lovely, just forget about it. You've nothing to worry about x

runwithme · 05/04/2022 19:21

If the police were made aware there might be a report but it won't even be considered, by the sounds of it. They do disclose non convictions but it would have to be substantiated or pretty big.

Daffodilsdance · 05/04/2022 19:45

Yes I have and I am a teacher . Please don’t worry x

Poppy33h · 05/04/2022 19:46

@runwithme I have had communication with the police - only family support and social services who did the assessment and then closed once they spoke to me and saw the girls x

OP posts:
Poppy33h · 05/04/2022 19:55

I meant no communication with the police!

@Daffodilsdance thank you - appreciate all your help. I have googled it but didn’t say anything but when I called the council they said potentially but would say issue resolved which panicked me. I don’t have anything to hide but also moving for a fresh start away from him with the girls so didn’t really want to bring up old ground if it wasn’t needed. Legal aid dealing with relocation and child arrangement order so this job was the final missing piece! Can’t wait to get away and start afresh even if it’s only 27 miles away 😂😂

Hi, just after some information 😊

A couple of years ago, my partner got accused of something. And police & social were involved. The police were mainly involved with my partner to talk to him etc. Social worked with us both. The case went on for a few months to prove it was wrong with what he got accused off. The police dropped the case with my partner after 1 month & we carried on with social. Nothing ever happened. No convictions or anything. I'm now applying for a job in a school & will be needing an enhanced dbs check. Would this show up? I only ever spoke to the police once? I've never had any dealing with the police myself or convictions to my name. Just severally worried this will show up on my dbs? I've searched Google & it's telling just convictions or crimes will but I've had none.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 16/06/2022 14:05

I had SS involvement that went to the pre-legal stage. I've had several Enhanced DBS checks since with no issues.

It's criminal offences they're interested in, not SS involvement. You'll be fine.

Clouis · 18/06/2022 07:55

So, because the allegations were made to My partner ( nothing ever went to court, police dropped the case on him ) & even though the police spoke to me. They weren't even in police uniform, just worked for the police. Nothing will be on My name on police records? As it wasn't made to me, just spoke to me once? I'm just worried, that even if I spoke to them, they will have a record of that on the system in my name.

runwithme · 18/06/2022 08:04

It depends what the role is and what the alleged offence was. Drug dealing, probably not unless he was alleged to be dealing to school kids and he's applying for a role to work in a school, or applying for a home job like childminder. It also depends on the strength of the intel that they have, or if there is lots of similar intel.

runwithme · 18/06/2022 08:06

Just read your first message. It will come up on the systems when doing the checks but by the sounds of it, no, it won't be disclosed.
All convictions are disclosed as is anything else that is relevant to the workforce

Clouis · 18/06/2022 08:28

It's not him applying for jobs, it's me. I'm applying for a kitchen assistant job in a school. But worried about social involvement from 4/ 5 years ago being brought up on police checks. Nothing was put out in my name. Just allegations made about my partner which weren't true. But I only spoke to the police once. & social were involved for a few months. So will anything show up on police about me, when this happened?

Clouis · 18/06/2022 08:38

Social, we're mainly involved because we have a child. And they only wanted to know how I would safe guard my son etc & how we would act in situations. Which we worked with them on & obviously they were happy with everything we said. They closed the case. As didn't see any problems. My partner is a good person & this was made by a jealous family member wanting trouble. I'm just worried because the police, were involved & I spoke to them once. That it'd be documented on police system & be brought up on enhanced dbs checks. Google is only saying crimes & convictions etc. But I've had none of what an enhanced check is giving. Thank you 😊

runwithme · 18/06/2022 09:01

OK so yes, the report will be on the system but no, it won't be disclosed on. DBS can't legally put anything on a certificate unless it's deemed necessary to protect the workforce, as well as all convictions.
