Your top two words are both likely (if opposite) outcomes of the target word.

[1000] can be a cause of [981]!

Thank you for the clues so far but I am still none the wiser. It's making me feel rather dumb today

I solved Semantle #68 in 114 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 6.68. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #12. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 36.14 (920/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

I also had 981 and got it from the clues on here. A record for me I think.

@semantlename @darmar the trouble is, I find, that it is so hard to think of a subtle clue that won't completely give it away!

This might be the same as other clues but you could say that a (946) (1000) might make you (977). Not sure if that helps?!

It was easy, but not in an obvious way, I think it was a great clue. Thank you! It was only easy as it helped me get on the right mindset.

I've managed to get 984 and 994.

Another that seems to obvious when you get it but took a lot of guessing!

I solved Semantle #68 in 88 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of -0.50. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #13. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 20.04. semantle.novalis.org/

I've managed to get 984 and 994.

You might experience 994 if you had an unpleasant 1000.

Alternatively, there are frequently posts on AIBU about whether someone IBU to feel 994 at the quality/lack of of a 1000!
