Does anyone else scan a list of synonyms in Thesaurus, get really excited about one that definitely is the right one, put it on, get cold and immediately castigate themselves for even thinking that could be close?

995 is a tenuous synonym of the word. You sometimes see a version of the target word used before 995 to emphasise it.

I solved Semantle #67 in 41 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 25.23. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #15. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 32.91 (842/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

The only link in my head between 995 and the target word is alcohol and that might not be a useful clue to anyone not inside my head!

Over 200 guesses and I am really struggling

I solved Semantle #67 in 79 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 0.52. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #29. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 45.09 (995/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

I found it from 995. Thankfully as I was feeling lost and bored after guess 74 and then got there in 5 guesses.

I solved Semantle #67 in 145 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 7.61. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #110. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 18.24. semantle.novalis.org/

That’s hammered my average a bit - 76.11 now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Got it! That was a struggle, especially after a getting a low green with my first word 🙈

Was just about to give you a hint.

When I'm stuck I try different endings on my top few words to see if they open up a path forwards / higher greens. Probably explains why my average is so terrible!
