Is 770 or 839 any good? This is my worst one ever, so many greens in opposite categories, but just can't narrow it down. I've now had a run of colds I've tried so many synonyms! In danger of hitting 200

I have to confess that my first thought on your clue:

So you would say ‘that was (990)!’ But if you really wanted to hammer the point home, you would say ‘that was (word) 990!!!’

... was that the word would be 'fucking' - but really didn't think swearing would be involved

All of that said, I really don't see how the final word relates to some of the very top-scoring greens. Even 990 doesn't really seem to equate to it.

Almost disappointed it wasn't that.

I’d got well into the 100s and no greens.
Took a couple of hours off and just started again with my first guess this time being 871.

Haven’t caught up with clues on here yet but hopefully I’ll find something that helps when I do!

My brain is even dredging up French words

😂 I realised too late that I’d made a typo but the game accepted it even though the word doesn’t exist (I’ve checked since!) apart from to say it’s a misspelling of another word. It had a 13.55 likeness 🤣

I'm stuck on 990 too and I'm now doing my best sporting commentator impression shouting out random words 🤣😂😂

I can got to 990 with help from @InMySpareTime but now I'm only getting swear words which feel appropriate really. Everything else sends me backwards.
