What’s Happening In Your House?

Chilled out day so far, although I am sitting in a very untidy kitchen. Plus the surfaces need doing & the dishwasher needs emptying. I have placed the broom with the dustpan & brush at the bottom of the stairs to remind me that I have to sweep the bathroom floor. Really suffering with severe leg pain so everything is an effort 😥 DH has stepped up but he works quite long hours some days. He’s cooking one of our favs tonight ( sausage pasta). DD13 is watching tv. She’s school refusing & we’re finding it very difficult to motivate her. She does go out & meet friends but refuses to walk anywhere or take a bus.
Just had one of our bunnies in. They are an endless source of joy for me. Can’t imagine life without them now 🐇🐇🐇🐇
Popped out to the butchers earlier for pork loin steaks & was amazed at the stock they have. So lucky to have such good shops locally. I could have got the same product cheaper at Lidl but I like to support small businesses where food hasn’t travelled so far. We will enjoy the steaks tomorrow with roast potatoes, roast carrots, savoy cabbage, sweetcorn & pork gravy. Wish I had bought myself some roses at Lidl as they were only £2.29. A lovely assistant made my day. I was buying sherry & joked that I was just about old enough. He replied “ I nearly asked for ID”. I walk with a stick & am overweight so had been feeling pretty crap but his comment really lifted my spirits. I’ve seen him in the store a few times & he’s always lovely.
Not much planned apart from the housework. Might watch a film tonight but more likely to put Greys Anatomy on again.

I've had my morning cuppa and am now going round adjusting all the clocks, as daylight savings ended last night here in Victoria. Bugger. I'll have to get the ladder out to change the ceiling fans to winter setting. otherwise a very quiet morning, the front door open so I can hear the birds squawking.

Quiet evening here after a busy day but nice busy not work busy, early swim, 18 holes of golf and dinner out.

Glass of wine in my nighty and soon off to bed!

MrsDThomas I did have a giggle at the image of you escaping to the quiet lane to have a good fart! 🤣🤣🤣 Hope it helped!

I'm at my Ds2's on the sofa bed. Came down on Friday evening. He had photos shown in his first exhibition yesterday so I'm very proud.. We went shopping after visiting the exhibition and then had the M&S meal deal last night... A nice seafront walk and brunch later before I go home mid afternoon... ☺

I'm lying in bed with DH.
I'm about to get up and have some peanut butter on toast. Then I'm meeting a friend for a road bike ride.

I’m in bed having a lovely lie in as I’ve a bit of a cold. Dp got up with the dogs and I imagine is sat in the garden with a coffee while they play outside (or he might be on the sofa by now!) Our 10 year old is on a group call with his friends while they play games online. I can hear him giggling and shrieking. Our 15 year old is still asleep and I expect will surface about 10ish.

Cold aside, I love the sounds of my family pottering about while I’m cosy in bed. We are going to have a sunder dinner later then take 15 year old back to her mums so she can see her friends this afternoon for a bit.

Have a lovely day everyone :)

Crappy night here, I either have flu or Covid.
DH will have to manage DDog, I am staying in bed.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 03/04/2022 08:37

Quiet day here. DH is at work later but is currently building a gorgeous bookcase for our newly renovated living room. DTeens in bed and probably won't surface until 12 at the earliest so I'm going to make bacon and scrambled eggs and flick through the good food magazine while I try meal plan for the week!

CharSiu · 03/04/2022 10:50

We are listening to the news whilst both browsing the web sat in bed drinking tea. I couldn’t sleep last night and bumped in to DS at 3am who had just made a pile of sandwiches so assume he will be up late.

Sorting out laundry later, DH will be cutting tiles as doing a repair in bathroom. Will go out for a walk at some point and also watch the next two episodes of Pieces of Her on Netflix which were really enjoying. Will. Will get DS to mow lawn.

@SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows it worked 😂

Im having a productive day. Half marathon ran, shower, currently clearing out my kitchen cupboards and asking myself why i have so much! Wheelie bin by the door and im chucking out.

Making room for some stockpiling.

Sunny day here. Been to Lidl for weekly shop, looked at hotels online for wedding we are going to later in the year, and am just about to put my jacket on to go round the station with DH to get his ticket for tomorrow, and then meet friends in the pub for a Sunday lunchtime pint or two. Back home for dinner (already prepared) at about 4 'ish and then settle down with telly - looking forward to the last episode of Peaky Blinders later.

nOvOn · 03/04/2022 13:54

DH and the 3 DCs all have covid. They have been banished to the front room and I’ve set up base in the kitchen in the hope of not catching it. Currently baking a vegan chocolate orange torte recipe kit that came from Riverford this week. If it comes out of the oven tasting as good as the mix did, it’s going to be gorgeous.

DoraSpenlow · 03/04/2022 15:13

Sitting in the conservatory. Cold outside but sunny so nice and warm in here. We both have Covid. DH a couple of days ahead of me. He does like to share things! I'm 5 days in, feeling pretty rough and wondering if we will be able to go away on our first break since 2019 which is booked for next weekend. So need to get away but just the thought of packing a case seems overwhelming at the moment.

ItIsntFair · 03/04/2022 16:29

I'm ironing Shock most of my clothes need ironing and I am sick of wanting to wear something and having to get the iron out!

Iamblossom · 05/04/2022 08:30

I heard of a family who all got it bar one person and they banished the uninfected one...put the healthy one in isolation. Got food deliveries and the rest of them had the run of the house. Made me laugh. 😆
