April Fools jokes for kids?

Anyone got any good ideas for an April fools joke I can play on my son tomorrow? Fun suggestions only please - I don't want to upset him by pretending I've eaten all of his sweets or anything like that. He's 6.
Does anyone else do this too?

DH got DD a prank book for Christmas.

Her favourite is drawing spuders on the toilet roll...

Put a bowl of cereal and milk in the freezer and serve him it for breakfast x

@Sparklingbrook

I'm probably a boring old fart but never started it as I think it can be cruel and unpleasant.
oh dear lord. the OP was thinking of things like... put food dye under the kids cornflakes, wo when they pour in the milk, it turns gree/Blue/Pink whatever..

Not creep in at 3am, dressed as an evil clown and wake up the kiddies up with a chainsaw and chase them round the house going "I'm going to kiiiilll yoooou"

@oldwhyno

Some great, and perfectly innocuous ideas here, thanks.

April fool jokes are only cruel and unpleasant if you're cruel and unpleasant.

This. There’s some proper misery arses on here 😂

I did the brown Es for breakfast - got despairing looks of my 7yo and the 3yo was just confused, but when I asked if they wanted to ask Daddy if he wanted a brownie when he got home later they were thrilled!

Might buy them some actual brownies later as well.

Aw that’s such a shame, my kids love a prank and they spent all morning trying to prank me. Nothing bad, just fun. They put cereal in one of my shoes. I knew but didn’t let on and they laughed for a good 10 mins. I hope they remembered this when they have their own children.

Did the food colouring on the back of the cereal spoon this morning, and then when they went to brush teeth the toothbrush had Boursin on it Grin

Last year was googly eyes everywhere.

@00100001, I was merely giving my opinion. Enough of the 'dear lord' stuff. Hmm

A bit late now but I once stuck a lot of newspaper sheets together and stuck it across the door frame so when dd got up and opened the door it looked like a wall. She was amused.

ImFree2doasiwant · 01/04/2022 14:55

Both DS loved the "massive bee in the kitchen!!" (Very large letter B stick on the wall).

We replaced the dd's phones with a piece of bread with numbers written on this year. They laughed when it fell out. I don't like unkind jokes.

Previous successes have been - freezing a bowl of cereal to serve for breakfast, newspapering the bedroom door, asking if the want a brownie for breakfast (it was a brown E) and replacing all their underwear with their df's giant pants.

All totally harmless and enjoyed by all.
