An antidote to the Rock/Smith Oscars bollocks- Lady Gaga and Liza Minelli

Now I am not a fan of Lady Gaga- I listen to punk and drum n bass but this cropped up on my Twitter feed so I decided to share it as an an antidote to the millions of posts about the fucking men being fucking men.
It's really sweet.

Then underneath there was a clip of Lady Gaga and June Brown on Graham Norton which I've never seen cos I don't watch it and again....what a lovely person.

Greg Davies "Am I on drugs?!" reaction really made me laugh because that's how I felt watching it.

Will post both below.

Fan of her music or not, Gaga has always been a class act.

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 28/03/2022 18:59

The way Lady Gaga leans in and says "I got you" to Liza.

She reminds me of my dear departed Nan (Liza obvs!!)

Just a little nice thing in the shitshow I guess?

She seems very lovely

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 28/03/2022 19:01

Yeah I don't know much about Gaga but she really comes through as a decent person, and I've got time for that even if I can't stand the music really!

Thank you for sharing that!

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 28/03/2022 19:10

It's so much nicer than the other shitshow isn't it?

I wish this was all over the news instead.

I generally don’t like her music but sometimes you just come across something of hers that blows you away and shows you the real Gaga. She’s surprised me more than once I must say.
RozHuntleysLeftHand · 28/03/2022 20:17

Just bumping this.

Think it's sad that this little bit of niceness is nowhere near the traction that those idiot men are getting

2 lovely clips. Lady Gaga seems a fantastic woman.

DoubleChinWoes2 · 28/03/2022 20:30

Following to watch later!

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 28/03/2022 20:53

She seems so nice.
I always assumed she'd be a diva but lovely instead. Feel bad now.

Thanks for sharing these! Lady Gaga is so sweet isn’t she. I also heard she recently took care of Tony Bennett at a show too. Love Liza Minnelli, classic and fabulous in Arrested Development as Lucille 2. That interview with June Brown made my day! I’d love to think they stayed in touch lol

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 28/03/2022 20:54

She was brilliant in A Star is Born

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 28/03/2022 20:54

@DoubleChinWoes2

Following to watch later!
Both are great clips but the June Brown one is worth 10 mins of your time for sure.

It's just... I don't know..... Nice I guess?! Like after all the masculinity this is just lovely?

I didn't realise she was such a nice human.

i follow houseinhabit on instagram and she has a different take on this; namely that the oscars put liza minelli in a shitty position when she is not well enough to present, and that it's a staged opportunity for lady gaga to self publicise.

ickwithajob · 28/03/2022 21:26

That June Brown clip was wonderful! ❤️

Sarah2891 · 28/03/2022 21:27

Love Lady Gaga, she's lovely.

The first part might be true but I really believe that Gaga is genuinely lovely and there's no ulterior motive.

That's shit if true. But.... A) my Nan after many strokes would still have loved it and it would have made her happy anyway and..... B) the June Brown interview where she didn't have to do anything was still nice

I'm an old punk and fucking cynical as fuck but I read sincerity in these clips?
Maybe I'm wrong

Knowing nothing about this sort of thing (celebs and show biz) and just on this thread as it piqued my interest, I would say that we have a problem in society of not feeling comfortable around people who are ill, or slow, or doddery or who need support. We want to hide them away.

She seemed capable of doing it but with support, whats wrong with that? She certainly looked amazing
