Oh good, welliewarmer! I didn’t really change direction but, when I typed the answer in, I didn’t expect it to score very highly

Well I was very naughty and looked at the thread when I’d only guessed a few words, no green, was only really scanning it but I guessed a word based on a clue here and got it.

My own fault I really need to be stricter about not looking here till I really am desperate as I feel much more satisfied that way!

Well I hit 895 early but all the main synonyms are cold, so I'm flailing around in the dark.

Well, that was a surprise, my final guess was kind of related to 977, which was my highest, but I really didn’t expect it to be the word considering my other greens - 937, 928, 799, 776, 423 and 244….

I have 950, 975 and 987. Am I 9n the right track? Am I looking for a synonym of these?

I’ve got it eventually (in 206 guesses), but was going in the wrong direction for a long time.

The closest words list is very odd today, lots of random things in there.
