Netflix price increase

Is anyone else cancelling?

Just can’t justify the cost of it anymore. I’ll use the free streaming services and iplayer.

We have a lot more cutbacks to come I imagine.

It's £7?

sqirrelfriends · 21/03/2022 07:48

I was thinking the same, we basically never watch anything in there anymore.

I was considering reinstating it once there was some stuff I wanted to watch.

ShirleyPhallus · 21/03/2022 07:52

Just use someone else’s log in?

Wink

I think they’re charging for using someone’s else’s login details soon too

WeCouldBeSpearows · 21/03/2022 07:54

I'm contemplating it too, and occasionally booking a month to binge watch the stuff I want.

The last price hike they did I downgraded my plan to the mid level from the premium one. Even at that, sometimes I can't watch what I want because two people are watching, so going to the basic level would just be a pita.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/03/2022 07:55

Don’t have it but I’ve cancelled britbox- it’s like when I first cancelled sky, you just live without it

DoucheCanoe · 21/03/2022 08:04

We just have the basic package as it's only really me and 9yo that watch it so I'm quite happy to pay £6.99.

We only have that and the entertainment package on NowTV which is also £6.99 - prime gets activated when they offer me a cheap to watch The Grand Tour and Disney+ when American Horror Story is on....

Mol1628 · 21/03/2022 08:06

Yea it’s £7 a month for the basic. But that’s low quality picture and only one device at a time which is just pointless in our house.

My family already do use my log in so that isn’t an option!!

Not so much that we can’t afford it. Just with the price of everything going up, we are getting rid of luxuries

DP had a notification the other day saying his is going up to £15.99!!

AlongCameBetsy · 21/03/2022 08:10

I'm considering doing the same, but with the costs of other form of entertainment rising even more, we'll probably be spending our time indoors anyway. 🤔

DoucheCanoe · 21/03/2022 08:18

I've never noticed the picture quality being any different to anything else tbh, we only have a 7 year old basic 40" TV though so it's probably not up to the required spec any way 🤣

squashyhat · 21/03/2022 08:23

My basic sub has never gone up since I got it about 4 years ago which I'm quite surprised about. It's the only paid for service I use (and I use it a lot) so I'll be carrying on with it.

WeCouldBeSpearows · 21/03/2022 08:25

Really? I can see the difference in my smaller, older TV! (I've had it for at least 12 years, probably more like 14).

It's not unwatchable, but it's definitely not got the clarity.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 21/03/2022 08:28

Another one here with a message to say it's gping to be £15.99 a month.

I said to DP that they have one more increase in them and then it's being cancelled.

monicagellerbing · 21/03/2022 08:28

I pay £9.99, what's it going up to? I haven't had an email or anything yet

AuntieMarys · 21/03/2022 08:31

Ours is included in our sky package

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 21/03/2022 08:33

£10.99. I got a message when I logged in this morning. It only another £1 so will be keeping it for now. But we don't have an Ariel/sky so we literally just have iplayer Netflix, prime and Disney+. Will probably cancel Disney + once the walking dead has finished.

OutlookStalking · 21/03/2022 08:34

We use basic package. Would rather navigate whose using it than get rid completely.

wearingtheT · 21/03/2022 08:35

Mines going to £10.99. I don't have a TV licence, but I do watch a lot on Netflix.

Williamshatnershorses · 21/03/2022 08:39

I had a look and I was on the top package for 4k tvs. We don’t have 4k tvs, so I’ve downgraded. So I think they are now getting less money from me despite the increase. Hah! take that Netflix!

DoucheCanoe · 21/03/2022 08:45

@WeCouldBeSpearows we only have one TV, so maybe not much to compare it too but I honestly can't see a difference (I have shitty eyesight though so maybe that's why)

poorbuthappy · 21/03/2022 08:48

We'll continue to pay. It's still good value for us. But we don't have Sky or Now TV etc. Just Prime and Netflix.

musicviking1 · 21/03/2022 08:50

Mines included in with my sky package, the next one to go for me will be Prime.

Juno22 · 21/03/2022 08:57

I haven't had a notification of a price increase but if I do get one I'll cancel and stick with Now tv and Prime. I'm not interested in paying more while they're paying millions of dollars to Harry and Meghan. I need my money more than that.

mowglika · 21/03/2022 09:07

We pay £5 a month as an add on to our sky package (can watch multiple screens on it), haven’t heard anything about sky putting it up yet
