Hope everyone’s having a good Sunday. I was up before 6 as I am really suffering with leg/bum pain which gets worse when I’m lying in bed. Enjoyed watching “ Married At First Sight Australia “ which I am hooked on! Worked 10 til 2 & although it was very busy, I really enjoyed the shift. Popped to Tescos to get a meal deal ( was hoping to find the smoked ham & sliced egg sandwiches which are sooo good but ended up with bacon & egg). I may have bought a bottle of rose oops! Home to potter. DH went for a bike ride. DD13 came down from her room to tell me she was having a really bad day. We actually had quite a good chat which for a change didn’t end in DD getting argumentative or confrontational. She’s going through a very tough time & is school refusing. We’re on the waiting list for further CAHMS treatment & trying to get her moved further up. Had fun with the bunnies. They bring me so much joy. Tried a new taste sensation ( celery) & they absolutely loved it, bless them.
Was planning a healthy tea of pork loin steaks, mash, carrots & savoy cabbage but forgot to buy spuds so we’re having chips & peas with the steaks instead. Might watch a film tonight.

DH is wfh. He's a University Lecturer and on a long stint of marking which will mean he works 60/70 hours a week for about 3 weeks per term.

I am gearing up to cook dinner, wish someone else would do it.

Yellowleadbetter · 20/03/2022 17:57

I’ve pottered today op, thanks for asking.
Had a bath, listened to a podcast, done some cleaning and put stuff on eBay to sell.

I’m absolutely LOVING having weekends off, I’ve never had weekends off for my whole working life.

Family have been out all day, just arrived home so all my cleaning will definitely be undone in about 30 minutes.

tootiredtobother · 20/03/2022 17:57

husband is just going for a bath, the bath ive just got out of and cleaned thoroughly, rinsed the suds away too, as the cat likes to drink in the bath. He wont clean the bath when he,s out, he thinks drying off the shower is good enough, not actually getting the cleaning spray out. aaarrrggghhhh

EishetChayil · 20/03/2022 17:59

We're just home from a day out. DH did a cycling event while toddler DD and I pottered around Hebden Bridge. Just about to order an Indian takeaway to eat when DD has gone to bed. Can't wait!!

gamerchick · 20/03/2022 17:59

Watching day of the dead with a beer after gaming all afternoon. Bloody bliss Sundays are. Ready for the onslaught of the working week.

hellcatspangle · 20/03/2022 18:00

DH is out all day today so I've done a food shop, baked a cake for my dad and been for a five mile walk. Had a fish finger sandwich for tea as I couldn't be arsed to cook much!

Kim82 · 20/03/2022 18:02

Dh, dd1, dd2 and dd2’s friend are all watching a Spider-Man film in the living room. Dd3 is at her friend’s house next door but one. We’re having a leftovers night for dinner tonight, I’m just cooking some oven chips to go with it (very healthy) and I’m sitting at the kitchen table browsing mumsnet with a glass of wine enjoying the peace.

I’ve spent the day cleaning and getting things organised for a week of work and school so I deserve the wine. Dh is incapacitated as he has had a steroid injection in his foot and is struggling to walk so it’s been a busy weekend for me having to do all the drudge on my own.

He’s a bit better today and getting more mobile as the hours pass so hopefully he’ll be back to normal tomorrow or Tuesday.

I’m almost done for the day now though thankfully, just need to bath/shower the youngest after dinner and put her to bed then I can sit and not move for the rest of the evening.

Simonjt · 20/03/2022 18:04

We’ve just got home, we’ve been out most of the day, we’ve been lazy and ordered some dinner in, as soon as I’ve had mine I’m going to have a bit of me time and read in the bath.

Jobseeker19 · 20/03/2022 18:06

I recieved my order of mice traps and peppermint oil. Then I got to work.

I'm currently in temporary accommodation and the council doesn't care about the mice infestation in the block im in.

I found a new massive hole in the wall that I heard them chewing on yesterday. I then emailed environmental health !

Afterwards I went shopping for dinner today.

Pegasussnail · 20/03/2022 18:08

Hope everyone is doing well today and resting before the week ahead. We are on route back from a lovely holiday. Have to get some groceries and the inevitable start on the washing pile and maybe a glass of wine with Peaky Blinders after a nice shower.

Brunosaiditlookslikerain · 20/03/2022 18:10

I love these threads, it's so cosy to have a little snapshot of people's days. It's been a day of housework and playing in the garden today enjoying the first day of spring. Now dh is making spaghetti for dinner for everyone in the kitchen. Dd1 is dressed as a knight and is climbing on the sofa and dd2 is snuggled on my lap while they both watch Frozen 2. I'm contemplating having a glass of wine when they're both in bed and wondering what to watch on tv with dh this evening (we have quite different tv tastes).

crosbystillsandmash · 20/03/2022 18:14

I'm watching a Audrey Hepburn documentary with the dog curled up next to me. House is clean, washing done, just ignoring the work I've brought home and not done yet!
Dh is out for the evening with friends and ds and I are going to have a takeaway later (he's currently gaming!)
I had friends over for a cuppa & catch up earlier so I'm enjoying sometime on my own!

dontblamemee · 20/03/2022 18:16

@SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows sorry to hear about your DD and her troubles. I have a DD13 too who is suffering similarly, I have actually just unenrolled her from school 2 weeks ago and we are now homeschooling. I'm so sad about it because I'm no substitute for actual real life friends. We are waiting for an assessment from CAMHS for eating disorders and ASD, no idea how long the waiting list is but we have to get weighed every 2 weeks at the GP's. Thankfully this week she had put on 1.5kg. I think there's a correlation with not being anxious about school anymore and weight gain.
She refused to leave the house today when the rest of us went swimming (not surprised) I'm just making a curry for tea, DD might eat some naan bread.

Chelsea26 · 20/03/2022 18:18

DP is working nights this week and had long standing plans today to go to the football so he left yesterday evening and won’t be home till tomorrow morning!

So I woke up alone and took the dog to see DS1 play football, then walked her round to watch my nephew play football.

DS1&2 are with their dad today and have also gone to watch football. Lots of football!

I went into town with my mum this afternoon and bought a few bits we needed for the house, came home, walked the dog and am now settling in for an evening of binge watching Downton, eating leftover vegetable curry and drinking wine!

Nice Sunday

Seeleyboo · 20/03/2022 18:20

Great thread OP. I got up and changed my sheets. Sorted breakfast and kids went off to nanny and grandad from 11 till 3 as they do every sunday. I then did the usual chores of beds, washing etc. Cleaned my fridge. Made a chicken soup. Did some ironing. Washed kids hair when they returned and did their nits. Worse thing about Sundays. Relatively lazy Sunday for me.

ScabbyHorse · 20/03/2022 18:26

Went for a walk and Sunday lunch with family and now watching the Apprentice in bed with a packet of monster munch.

MysweetAudrina · 20/03/2022 18:35

Just chilling with the doggies on the sofa after finishing a chicken jalfrezi. Did a shop and a walk and a spring equinox yoga workshop earlier so nice day all in all. Dh brought kids to their matches so I was spared that excitement.

iluvsummer · 20/03/2022 18:35

Took the middle child to her ballet class, then we all went to the country park with the dog and had a picnic, called in Tesco to get bits for Sunday dinner, popped to see my lovely tenant who’s moving out tomorrow, came home, put the chicken in, cleaned our holiday flat because I have people coming in tomorrow for a little holiday, made Sunday dinner and am now sitting down for half an hour before I put the 3 kids to bed and do yet another mountain of washing before I have a bath and crawl into bed!

cigarettesNalcohol · 20/03/2022 18:47

Woke up and cuddled 4 month old baby in bed with husband. Daughter then woke up 20mins later and joined us in bed for snuggles. Fed baby whilst husband made us both a cup of coffee. The four of us stayed in bed some more before baby went down for her first nap (as babies do...), husband and daughter went downstairs for breakfast and I treated myself to a long shower, washed my hair, exfoliated, moisturised (for on once!). And even put some make up on. Then had breakfast and did a few chores around the house. Husband is spending the weekend making a patio in our garden so the children and I decided to go to soft play and do a spot of shopping in Next to buy a summer dress (loads of gorgeous dresses for girls in there atm). Got some nice bread and cheeses to take home for a late lunch in the sunny garden with husband and children. Enjoyed a bottle of rosé Prosecco too which went down dangerously well. Pottered around the garden, husband continued with patio. Watched the end of the Formula 1, put baby to bed. Opened wine, cbeebies, McDonald's. Now time for bedtime stories & bed. Us parents will watch a film or box set tonight.

iluvsummer I feel tired just reading that!

Stripped the living room wallpaper, sorted daughters clothes and got rid of a sack full, cooked a roast and now on here and having a well deserved cuppa.

Skinterior · 20/03/2022 19:13

Not getting DS to bed 😵‍💫

Luna42 · 20/03/2022 19:14

Day 3/4 of covid for most of us in house. Made a cake, it went wrong. Went back to bed for a bit. Got up, started prepping a roast and had to lie down on sofa. Luckily DD 24 took over. Went back to bed with a cup of tea. Got up, ate a bit of the roast. Now back on sofa for a change before I go back to bed. Was going to wfh tomorrow but don't think my brain will cope!

Casheeeew · 20/03/2022 19:21

Feeding my DS. DP doing the final end of day chores. Have been landscaping our garden all weekend. I think it's the first proper manual labour I've ever done, every muscle in my body aches and I feel great. As soon as DS is asleep I'm going to bed Smile

HalloHello · 20/03/2022 19:26

Busy day today. DD4 had her swimming lesson this morning then we went from there to my parents with baby DS and had lunch with them, spent the afternoon hanging out and went to the playground while baby napped in the pram. Beautiful sunny day here. Home via town to collect DH from his hobby and home for tea, bath and bed for the kids, I'm making Brinner (breakfast for dinner) for me and DH with a white wine and then getting set up for the week, packed lunch, clothes etc!
