If it's true Putin has terminal bowel cancer does this make the situation more or less dangerous to Ukraine

I have read this on several sites but am not sure if it is just a baseless rumour.

I think he was hoping to reclaim Ukraine as his swan song. A massive triumph to go out on. A victory and a legacy of his leadership. Instead, it's not going to plan and there's doubts that the takeover will be sustainable. The Russian army's mediocre and disorganised. He's a nasty dictator and everyone wishes he was dead, just like Stalin.

What a dirty, messy, shitty state of affairs his premiership has been. He's a loser in the true sense of the word because nobody loves or respects him. They're just scared of him and he's an utter failure as a human being because of that.

I hope he croaks it soon and I hope it hurts.....a lot.

caringcarer · 06/03/2022 19:50

I can't think how anyone would know about his personal health. Have you not noticed billionaires often have younger glamorous wives?

Gilly12345 · 06/03/2022 19:54

I have heard rumours that he is seriously ill and hope his end will be soon and hopefully horrendously painful.

HestersSamplerofCarrots · 06/03/2022 20:15

@AlternativePerspective

It's thought he is married to a fairly young Russian gymnast and has twins born in 2017 so why would he destroy the world for them? you have to wonder how, (and why) any woman would want to have sex with him don’t you? 😱
Because she knew she or her family would end up in the modern equivalent of a gulag if she didn’t for a guess?
AnnaMagnani · 06/03/2022 20:23

He hasn't got the most convincingly steroidy face I've seen, and I've seen more than my fare share.

However I would not be surprised to learn that he had Botox to add to his expressionless face, or that his medical team were not exactly practicing mainstream medicine - after all, would you want Putin as your patient?

If he wanted it, he would get it.

It always makes me wonder when I see people post stuff like this.

Doesn't it make us lesser people and less human to say or want things like this?

Clarabe1 · 06/03/2022 20:42

I think Putin has had fillers and Botox. Vain narcissist pig. He has bought himself a ‘young’ face to go with his young missis.

dontgobaconmyheart · 06/03/2022 20:46

Whilst I am sure we would all like an explanation (not excuse) for the horrors going on or for his life to end, ltimately speculating about it won't change much in the short term. We are hardly likely to find out any verifiable truth. Physical or psychological conditions are not likely to be able to be diagnosed at home from video snippets any more than we can determine what is wrong with someone we see in the street. Attempting to do so would be ridiculous.

I've seen a few articles about it and most appear baseless at best and laughable at worse- eg that he has "not been smiling" as much in 2022 and "looks puffy" or has a paranoia about catching covid and so must be dying of cancer/parkinsons/is having chemotherapy/is taking steroids.

In 2015 this was doing the rounds, it all seems fairly puerile.

rileyhaspiley · 06/03/2022 23:30

@TellMeMoreHellebore

I'd say we are all at great risk

Not just Ukraine. There won't be much left of Ukraine soon

This is such OTT scare mongering

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 06/03/2022 23:56

He's 70 so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he has serious illness as the risk increases with age. Russian men aren't very healthy and don't have a long lifespan in general.

CockingASnook · 07/03/2022 00:04

It would be really sensible not to take any notice of unfounded speculation and not spread rumours. Probably only four or five people know Putin’s health status and none of them are on social media or Mumsnet.

nothingbutsnow · 07/03/2022 00:43

perhaps if our culture didnt teach girls to marry/seek rich men and make their own wealth.....

keep wealth and power out of the hands of women and women will be at your service.

PyongyangKipperbang · 07/03/2022 01:00

I read this in a paper earlier and it suggests that he is in the final stages and wants to leave a "legacy". So in that way I would think it makes him more dangerous, as he literally has nothing to lose. If it is true then he will die before he is deposed, he has nothing to fear in terms of being assassinated or killed by returning aggression and he is fucking crazy.

One bullet......thats all it needs.

Furries · 07/03/2022 01:48

Difficult to tell. Was watching an interesting analysis of a couple of his interviews by some body language experts. The fact that he’s had Botox does make it more challenging to determine both his expressions and the state of his face.

Given how paranoid he is likely to be re potential attempts on his life, someone on another thread did point out that someone on his team likely has a rather odd-looking face on account of testing all those injections first!

rileyhaspiley · 07/03/2022 06:51

There really is no point in speculating, for the sake of your own mental well-being

HE CANT TOUCH US OR UK

ghostmouse · 07/03/2022 07:40

My husband died 9 days after his terminal bowel cancer diagnosis. He’d been Ill for just 3 months. So it’s a sweeping generalisation to say that it’s a myth that people die early from bowel cancer cos loads do.

Anyway if Putin does indeed have a terminal illness or dementia or whatever doesn’t that make him doubly dangerous.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 07/03/2022 07:44

No idea about illnesses. It’s just speculation.

The covid fear is interesting though. The fact he’s worried about covid means he’s concerned to remain functioning and in control.

He knows covid is vanishingly unlikely to kill him.

So he’s concerned about losing his executive abilities even temporarily.

Which suggests he already doesn’t trust those around him to carry out ‘the plan’. I think this is good news because it in turn suggests any lunatic orders will be disobeyed by the generals and politicos he already daren’t trust.

LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana · 07/03/2022 07:55

I've heard the rumours that he was terminal. Would make sense as to why he shut himself away, terrified of catching covid. Very worrying if it's true. He has nothing to lose 😢

LiveintheNow · 07/03/2022 08:27

@1forAll74

I read somewhere, that he has signs of Parkinsons disease, and early dementia, can't really beieve all that you read though. Putin always seems to have a flat dour looking, emotionless face,, so can never tell what he is thinking at all.. maybe he is human looking robot., with all wires and nuts and bolt in the head, and programmed to do and say, all the things he comes out with.

I dont suppose he would ever go and visit any of his Russian troups, in hospitals, those who have got badly injured in his war. a bit like some world leaders would do.

An expressionless face is a sign of Parkinson's. He also has the typical gait of someone with Parkinson's where one arm swings when he walks and the other does not.
iheartmybeachhut · 07/03/2022 08:41

Too much social media twaddle it seems. It's unlikely anyone outside his inner circle would know about his medical status.

eightlivesdown · 07/03/2022 09:10

Speculation - we don't know the state of his health, or whether, if he is ill, it had any bearing on his decision to invade Ukraine.

FruitandPasta · 07/03/2022 09:29

He also has the typical gait of someone with Parkinson's where one arm swings when he walks and the other does not.
Lots of government officials in Russia have that walk, previous occupation training. There's a bmj article about it from a few years ago www.bmj.com/content/351/bmj.h6141

verlioca · 07/03/2022 09:45

Such rumours have been circulating since 2012 but with no evidence.

AlternativePerspective · 07/03/2022 09:46

An expressionless face is a sign of Parkinson's. or someone who has had too much Botox.
