Chinese for 1

Unexpectedly found myself alone today/tonight, so having a Chineseand can not wait. What is the best order for one person? Must include egg fried rice.

I always have chilli beef but want a change.

My Chinese do a box meal of rice and ribs or rice and sweet sour chicken. Massive bag of prawn crackers and equal amounts of cold white wine is a winner

I'd say it depends what's good at your place but not knowing that if I was eating alone I'd go for rice and mixed meats (BBQ pork, roast duck and roast pork) with a side of kai lan vegetables.

Shredded beef is my go to. I think anything else might disappointment me 🤣

Sizzling beef & egg fried rice.

OR

prawn toast, sizzling beef, satay chicken, egg fried rice - and have enough 'left over' for tomorrow too.

I would have a quarter of crispy duck and then could eat all the best crispy bits without having to share.

Egg fried rice
Seaweed
Prawn toast or spring rolls

I'm not dead yet. Eat it the next day and make sure it is properly hot.

Egg fried rice
Prawn crackers
Some form of curry
Salt & pepper chips or chow mein
Spring rolls to dip in the curry

I'm no help though because I'd get crispy chilli beef with egg fried rice and prawn crackers. And a tsing tao. But maybe if I was feeling adventurous I'd get wonton and ribs instead.

Of course you can. I eat reheated rice at least once a week and have done for decades and have never been ill.

Is there a difference in terms of safety between reheating takeaway rice and having microwave egg fried rice from the supermarket? (genuine question)

I always reheat fried rice. Cook it for dinner one evening and then have leftovers for lunch some time during the week. You can even freeze it - I freeze toddler sized portions for DD then reheat in the microwave.
