Chinese for 1

Unexpectedly found myself alone today/tonight, so having a Chineseand can not wait. What is the best order for one person? Must include egg fried rice.

I usually get

Mushroom chow mein
Egg fried rice
Prawn crackers
Fortune cookie (if they have)
Occasionally chips (depending on Chinese and my mood)

But I don't eat it all in one go!

Salt and pepper chicken! Swap it for the chilli beef for a change.

Cantonese style sweet and sour and mini veg spring rolls.

Chicken chop suey, egg fried rice.. sesame prawn toast and maybe some crispy beef 😍 lots of left overs for next day!

I can't reheat the fried rice can I ?

OP we do, all the time, following day reheat in a very hot wok for at least 5 mins, add a little water - gorgeous.....enjoy!!

S&S King prawn Hong Kong style
Half reheated for lunch tomorrow.

I've been really ill after reheating rice and ended up with post infectious IBS. Do make sure it's absolutely boiling hot if you're going to reheat it.

Recently had King prawn egg fu yung and it was lovely no where near my usual order but I’d get it again

bit late to the party i know but for another time you could have my favourite and then invite me round to share

tea smoked chicken or
chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce
with egg fried rice
spring rolls
singapore noodles
prawn crackers

We (2) are having Chinese takeaway tonight.
I always choose Singapore Fried Rice and Sweet & Sour King Prawn Balls. He will want some sort of chicken satay and pancake rolls.

If i was ordering for me alone I would have my two items and eat the left overs for breakfast tomorrow!

I normally go Singapore noodles and chicken satay skewers, maybe with a mini portion of sweet and sour chicken balls if I'm being a piglet!

Appreciate that doesn't fit the egg fried rice criteria though...

I got a Chinese meal for 1 from Marks and Spencer earlier! I go cheap on the food so I can spend on the wine 🍷

I've just ordered special fried rice and bbq ribs x

@Takeawaytonight Killing Eve is the best ever!! I am so jealous you’ve got 3 series to go before this new one. You’d best get on it!! Back to the rice - I believe the thing that can make you ill in it isn’t something you can kill off with heat… off to research now…

I always reheat EF rice, though I halve it and then put the uneaten half into the fridge straight away to cool quickly, no food poisoning so far!

My order is usually salt and pepper chicken pieces or chicken in Satay sauce, rice, and a few chips I’ve stolen off DH
If I’m on my own I order the chips anyway and begrudgingly eat them all…

No I haven't but have ordered the book after being recommended it earlier. Chilli beef, rice and cava has hit the spot, cat and I are cuddled up watching The Godfather.

Completely missing the point of the thread, but I was about to recommend Wide Sargasso Sea too!

What a lovely thread! I read your post this morning and I've been thinking of Chinese takeaway all day so have ordered! For me Beancurd with green pepper and black bean sauce and white rice (my go to); for my DP shredded beef and egg rice and ribs for my DS; mixed veg for us to share.

This is why I love MN. I really had not heard about the book until this evening (I'm normally too busy absorbed in Tudor fiction 😳 ) I've ordered the hardback version tonight. It looks an amazing read the book is pretty.
