What items have you switch to own brand to save money?

I shop online at Asda and have noticed a trend that each week items are increasing in price by 5p-25p sometimes even more. So which branded items have you down graded to own brand or budget version that have been as good? I buy a lot of branded products out of habit and my weekly shop has increased between £20-£45 a week depending on if Its the week I need washing powder, softener, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls etc etc. I am interested in own brand versions of food products, cleaning stuff, washing stuff and toiletries.

Aldi own brand
Shreddies, I can’t tell the difference
Their version of herbal essences
Much prefer their own brand face wipes to Nivea
Lighter than light mayo, £2.30 cheaper the helmans.
Seeded thins, no different to Rivera thins again £1 cheaper
French Fries crisps, as good as walkers
Bleach absolutely fine.
Things I don’t like own brand equivalent of
Green giant sweetcorn
Tomato ketchup
Squash
Diet Coke
Not done specifically to save money, we have a new Aldi that’s really convenient and they don’t stock all the brands. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by most swaps.

We haven't had many branded items for a long time op
Everything is either Aldi or Tesco or sainsburys depending where we can get the best bargains.
I did recently downgrade my daily and night moisturiser as well as face oil which all came from Aldi and are amazing so really pleased with them

I only buy branded ketchup, coke, tea and mini-babybel. Everything else is own brand. Just start with the cheapest and work upwards if you aren’t happy.
Toilet paper is an exception, though. If you go for the cheapest price you will end up using more paper, so you need to find the sweet spot in the middle.

The only brands here are washing powder, ketchup and baked beans. Everything else is own brand.
We moved to own brand a few years ago when dh lost his job, but now things are back on track those are the only 3 items I felt were worth going back to.
I'll buy Mr Kipling or Mini Rolls if they're on a good offer.

Cheap toilet paper is very thin and your finger goes through it so you definitely find the sweet spot in the middle.

I shop at Tescos
Own brand
Tinned tomatoes
Seeded bread
Washing powder ( unless daz is in offer)
Rice and pasta
I have just had a quick look Tilda easy Cook rice £4.60 p k ( though it's only available in 500g bags)
Tescos Own easy cook rice £1.25 p k
Napolia fusilli pasta £2.30 p k
Tescos Own £1.30 pk
Savings like that will make a huge difference to your shopping bill.

Schweppes Slimline tonic - £1.60
Aldi low calorie tonic - 39p
I have to be honest - I hesitated before making the switch. I'd gone gradually away from Schweppes, first to Sainsbury's own low calorie tonic, which is 70p, so already much cheaper.
But even though I buy lots of Aldi stuff and have never been disappointed by it, this seemed too cheap and I was convinced it would be awful.
I couldn't be more wrong! No way I'd go back to paying Schweppes prices.
And it's the same with lots of other brands. Even if you're resistant to the change, why not try it - just once?

We love Aldi and do a big shop every weekend, but also do a weekly Ocado shop for the branded stuf, toiletries and household mainly- literally just hitting the £40 minimum spend though for stuff like Diet Coke, Pantene shampoo etc.
But, we've got to the point now by trying so many swaps that we now often cancel a delivery and skip a week! I'm so pleased about it! It has been trial and error though.
Aldi swaps that have been great:
Kids smoothies
Pasta, sauces, passata etc
Lazy garlic, ginger and chilli
'Fake Fanta' as we call it- we all love these, zero sugar and I about £1.50 for 6
Biscuits and crisps
