ShirleyPhallus · 03/03/2022 21:06

It would not, no

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 03/03/2022 21:07

Bowl of oats instead?

TracyMosby · 03/03/2022 21:07

No of course not. But you need to look at your whole day’s food to see if you're eating in a balanced way, not just one meal.

ButtockUp · 03/03/2022 21:09

No

Phormiumjester · 03/03/2022 21:10

Depends what was on your sandwich!

justaweeone · 03/03/2022 21:10

No, there probably won't be much difference in calories depending on sandwich filling
Cereal won't fill you up and you'll be hungry in a few hours

unfortunateevents · 03/03/2022 21:11

No

LovelyYellowLabrador · 03/03/2022 21:14

Well I usually eat white bread most of the time
Sometimes marmite
Sometimes ham or cheese

OP posts:
LovelyYellowLabrador · 03/03/2022 21:15

Better as it’s whole grain

BIWI · 03/03/2022 21:17

What are you trying to achieve?

What do you think 'healthy' is?

FurbleSocks · 03/03/2022 21:17

The best wholegrain bread is Warburton's no added sugar www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/254944260

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 03/03/2022 21:17

Why not just use brown bread?

Thatsplentyjack · 03/03/2022 21:20

Depends on a lot of things. How much Cereal, what you would put on it if anything, what would be in your sandwhich.
It would probably have less fat, maybe not calories though.

TracyMosby · 03/03/2022 21:21

Also, people eat too much cereal. They tend to fill the bowl and have a way bigger portion than they should.

What is the rest of your food intake like in a normal day?

LovelyYellowLabrador · 03/03/2022 21:21

But brown bread isn’t whole grain tho is it ?

“What do you think 'healthy' is?”
Less carbs but not totally cutting it out
Natural fat like butter rather than marg

Meat fish and veg

Not much pasta or food from grains

OP posts:
LovelyYellowLabrador · 03/03/2022 21:21

I measure 40g of it

OP posts:
LovelyYellowLabrador · 03/03/2022 21:22

And measure 100ml
Semi skimmed milk

Smokeahontas · 03/03/2022 21:22

Why not just have a whole grain bread sandwich?!

Comedycook · 03/03/2022 21:22

Why is the choice between a ham sandwich or a bowl of cereal?

Confused
WaterTheBasil · 03/03/2022 21:23

Your sandwich doesn't sound very filling so you would probably be getting hungry earlier than you should.

LovelyYellowLabrador · 03/03/2022 21:23

Well
I’m not sure what bread is whole grain apart form maybe rye ?

OP posts:
LovelyYellowLabrador · 03/03/2022 21:24

Why is the choice between a ham sandwich or a bowl of cereal?

That doesn’t have to be the only choice of course
I’m just wondering if this is a more healthy swap

megletthesecond · 03/03/2022 21:24

You need a better sandwich.

Wholemeal bread.
Cucumber, walnut and brie
Sliced mixed peppers and hummus.

NinjaQueen · 03/03/2022 21:25

You won't be full very long off 40g is cereal, the sandwich is probably more balanced, switch to whole meal bread and add some salad to the ham and maybe have some fruit with it.
