Since the madness of our love/hate affair with Semantle is continuing, I thought I start a second thread. Why worry about the goings on in the world when you can pull your hair out over vocabulary?

To umderstand what I'm on about follow this link. It's a word game like Wordle in that you need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I solved Semantle #34 in 186 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 12.58. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #52. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 29.98 (756/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Why do I put myself through this? It's so frustrating.

I've got 834/842/957 but I've exhausted all known words associated with these. Grrrrr.

YES!!!

Woohoo!! Feeling proud. Well, satisfied perhaps. Only 26 tries from the first green guess!

Thank you for setting up a new thread. I'm struggling today have stalled at 111 guesses to far and at 983. Very frustrating.

Did it in collaboration with DS1 again :)

I explained the theme to him, he suggested a few which were no good, then I suddenly got 965 and 988. Then he said "What about XXX?" That was 995! I put in another word I thought of relating to that and it was the winner :)

102 guesses in and I have a 66/1000 green with no clue :( Please someone DM me a hint too?
