I could not do Wordle for a few days. Started again yesterday. Just done today. Not sure the words are as random as they used to be.

I did wonder this this morning. Half thought it yesterday. Supposedly the words have been set in advance for ages but I do wonder if they’ve swapped a couple?

I know what you mean, OP. They seem "selected" so as not to follow with the assumptions about most common letters, letter patterns in common words, etc.

I agree. There's nothing you can put your finger on, or probably really argue about, but it feels deliberately 'samey' and obtuse.

I can't remember what yesterday's word was! In fact I just had to go back and look at what today's was after seeing this. I'm not sure I understand what's being said here.

What was yesterday''s word? I can't remember, but I also do quordle (my new favourite) , and parole - Italian wordle). I have not done today yet, I save it for the evening usually.

I don't do wordle but I'm curious as I've seen a couple of threads already on this.

Assuming you don't want to spoil today's , can you tell us yesterday's?

Don't see a connection between yesterday's and today's. I think if you do see a connection, you'll probably see a connection between ANY two words!

Not sure if this is true because I'm on my phone but a colleague told me the word list is in the html code.... As in, it's not random there is a list of words being worked through. Fwiw I don't see a connection. I fell for the "ooh it might be topical" the other day and went for ruble over rupee.

They are Americans. What else would you expect
The words were picked for a year, as I understand it, by the inventor, who is Welsh, if I recall correctly. In my experience Americans are just like, you know, people. Why do you expect them to be different?

If that's yesterday's word then I don't see a connection between yesterday's and today's. Only if you are looking for one and that would be very tenuous.
