Do you know what your neighbours cars look like?!

Just a random conversation with dh and he asked me if their cars were still there. I honestly have no idea what cars they are, I know one of them is white but couldn’t tell you what make it was. And I don’t even know the colour of the other car.
Sometimes they park on their drive, other times they park on the street. I clearly don’t pay attention!!
Just got me wondering if everyone knows what cars their neighbours drive.

Of course, I'm lucky to not have any visual impairment so can't see how I wouldn't. I know all my friends and famills cars and most of the parents of my DCs

I can't imagine not knowing them

I know all the cars on my road (about 50) and their numberplates, and the surrounding roads too.
I memorise numberplates, I know all my friends, colleagues, family etc. but I'm ND and that's one of my super powers.

Some of them. I can't see the parking area from my house but I still know a fair few of them as I sometimes see then driving when I'm out there.

No clue not even colours really. People do find this weird. I also don't know what cars family members drive or friends.

No, not interested in cars at all and can't differentiate one from another.

I know the lady over the road has a blue car, the house next to her has five cars and I speak to them sometimes and they might mention a car as if I know what they're talking about but I don't.
I think one of theirs is electric because they have a charging thing.
My neighbour has a dark coloured car that he fiddles and fusses at all the time, he even talks to me about it, but I have so little interest I still don't know what car it is.

I've often struggled with boyfriend's cars, last guy I was seeing had two and referred them by the model name - I never knew which one he meant and would have to say "is that the blue one?".

And no, I don't have any visual impairment either, except pretty common myopia corrected by spectacles.

Yes but only 8 houses in our little road. Only one or two garage their cars so they are usually on their drives which leaves little to the imagination. I'm not sure about all the second cars and children's cars though.

Yep every one within a few houses or so. I wfh and spend too much time staring out my window.

Yes of course. I couldn’t name the make and model but recognise their cars and when a strange car is there.

No. I barely know what my neighbours look like, apart from a few of them that I chat to.

Only next doors, and that's because they spend hours every weekend jet washing the bloody things right next to our garden gate, and constantly park them blocking access to the garages! Everyone else, nope not a clue!

So pretty much a mix. All I really need to be able to do is identify our cars which I can do easily

Nope, not a clue - I like that expression "car blind"! I used to know our neighbours' blue car (it was bright and pretty) but they traded it for a grey one and now I don't know which it is.

I've just shocked myself by being able to trot out what the main car is for each and pretty much the second car. Nobody has the same make main car, let alone the same model!

I know my neighbour has a white and a red car but couldn't tell you what type of car it is or recognise it anywhere. I don't know anyone elses on the street. Tbh I could only tell you that our own car is a black car and it is a Ford but not what type of Ford.

My OH on the other hand could probably tell you everyone's.

One or two I do. Dh would know them all!

I always know one particular neighbour’s car - she absolutely has to have a flash one, preferably parked right outside her house. She’s one of those people whose self esteem is completely bound up with what sort of car she drives, and assumes that if anyone doesn’t drive a flash, expensive one, it’s because they can’t afford it.

Yes but that's because their cars (in total) are more worth than their house. And they're complaining a lot about rising costs, which makes it remarkable that they keep two supercars (while they only need one).

Not really - I know our next door neighbours’ car because it’s distinctive, and the cab driver a few doors down, but the rest of them I don’t know. Busy London street so lots of comings and going through the day.

No, I don't know them. I wouldn't recognise any of their cars if I saw them when out. I'm not terribly observant by nature.

My husband would have recognised them but he was a car fanatic.

A while ago the police knocked on our door and asked if our neighbours drove a specific make and model of a car. I said, er… it’s white?

I don’t ever pay any attention to cars, I barely recognise logos let alone identify particular models.
