Petrol queue

Anyone else noticed this starting again? Went to Sainsburys yesterday. Usually stop at their petrol station then drive to the car park for their store but yesterday there was an enormous queue for petrol.
Only asking because quite a few people have mentioned difficulties today on our local Face Book page. Surely there's no need to go down this road again. Are people just panic buying?

We filled up a couple of days ago because increased petrol prices are an obvious repercussion of what’s happening. Instead of repeatedly topping up, though, will cut back on car use now because I can.
It is a worry, though, for people already pressed with energy/food prices who depend on their cars so can’t blame them at all for filling up before prices rise further.

Sainsbury had pc technical issues yesterday on their forecourts

Thus a queue

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 26/02/2022 12:27

I filled up yesterday but the car was nearly out. In and out within 10 minutes, if that. The other stations I passed didn't have queues either. That's in Greater London, so no issues here atm. It's payday weekend for a lot of people and people also may want to top up as prices are set to go higher.

Scaremongering bollocks

Nothing to see here.

There was a small queue at our local Tesco filling station yesterday, but there always is on a Friday anyway.

And yet here we are with several local petrol stations either queued to buggery or empty.

Your area might be fine, others aren't.

FinallyFree2022 · 26/02/2022 12:50

But this thread helps how!?

Just makes people panic and that's how it all unravels like last time.

Really? Prices are going to rise, just a fact. Makes sense to buy now if you can 🤷‍♀️

Filled up yesterday evening, which I always go and do to kill some time after I drop DD off at an activity. No busier than it usually is on a Friday evening just after 5pm, there were cars at most of the pumps but no queues. It definitely wasn't like a few months ago when the whole car park was in gridlock with people trying to get to the petrol station.

RestingStitchFace · 26/02/2022 15:09

its payday weekend...natural to see people filling up?

I've just put £40 in the car for this reason. Maybe don't read too much into it...

Kitkat151 · 26/02/2022 15:10

Nope...no queues round here

Tigersonvaseline · 26/02/2022 15:14

No queue here either.
South East town hit by worst of queue last time

ENoeuf · 26/02/2022 15:14

There were yesterday, not so sure today. Definitely a weird vibe at the moment locally.

worriedatthemoment · 27/02/2022 23:10

Round here on friday people were panic buying including filling up jerry cans , seems back to normal today though
Few pumps shut but no garage out of everything

mum2jakie · 05/03/2022 19:01

Big queues at Morrisons today but I think it was mostly due to their petrol vouchers running out this weekend

Chemenger · 05/03/2022 19:07

Filled up yesterday because the tank was empty, no queue. Passed several other filling stations, no queue at any of them.Scotland.
