How often are you alone?

I think I’m starting to go mad
I’m never ever alone
I neeeeeed some space, to not be touched, not be talked to, just not have anyone buzzing around me
But don’t know if I’m expecting too much

How often are you completely alone?

Around 8+ hours a day.

I don't have DC and work alone.

Myonlysunshine123 · 25/02/2022 18:47

Hardly ever. At work people talk at me because I'm in the kitchen and a captive audience, at home I have to get up mega early to get alone time but then the dog is all over me, then kids up and talking at me, in bed partners arm around me(which is lovely, but .....) or the cat is on my shoulder. I could have written your post myself. I feel like I'm "on duty " all the time. Does anyone ever wonder what I want for my breakfast??? Maybe I should have worked his half term, needed to get that out, thanks!

Akire · 25/02/2022 18:52

167 out of 168 hours in a week. Honestly it’s not all that amazing on the other side!

Gwenhwyfar · 25/02/2022 18:55

Most of the effing time and when I'm with people I often feel alone.

DeckTheHallsWithGin · 25/02/2022 18:59

Haven’t been alone in the house at all since covid. Have had one night alone in the house in 20 years. I really miss it!!

linmanuel · 25/02/2022 18:59

Hardly ever. ESP now dh wfh
I miss it

PilatesPeach · 25/02/2022 19:07

I live alone with my dog so lots! I have a social job and meet friends but lots of time alone which I both need and enjoy - I am never bored!

tammyjess · 25/02/2022 19:08

I feel exactly like this. I crave time alone constantly. Its like an obsession in my head Blush

When I drive to and from work. That's it! Total of 30 minutes per day 😬

villamariavintrapp · 25/02/2022 19:15

Yup 15 mins to work and 15 mins back three days a week.. actually I'm alone sometimes at work too, but I'm busy working so not sure if that counts..?

MaryAndHerNet · 25/02/2022 19:17

From 9-3.30 every school day and after 9.30pm till 8am everynight and, depending on evening activities, quite often during the evening after school.

I am not good with people, so I am happy for it.

bloodywhitecat · 25/02/2022 19:20

Never at the moment but in a few weeks I suspect it will be every night.

MimosaPiqueNique · 25/02/2022 19:20

The other day I was home alone for 10 mins while dh was out, the dc were still walking home from school and our lovely but needy/clingy dog was at the groomers.

I stood in the hallway and listened to the sound of nothing….

hellcatspangle · 25/02/2022 19:22

Not enough. DH works from home as do I - when he tells me he's off out for the day on a weekend I'm inwardly jumping for joy 😂

Sunnytwobridges · 25/02/2022 21:07

I WFH so during the day Mon-Fri til DD gets home from work (she lives with me). She rarely goes anywhere on the weekend and if she does it's not til late. She did go away for 5 days in January and it was BLISS.

When she was at college from 2014 to 2018, those were lovely years. LOL I love her but I love having the house all to myself.

RedCandyApple · 25/02/2022 21:21

When my kids are at school, they are with me at every other time apart from then.

lisaandalan · 25/02/2022 22:38

Never x

hm1610 · 25/02/2022 22:42

Only when my 3 year old is either with his dad (1 night per week) or grandparents (1 night per week to allow me to start work earlier than his nursery opens) or when said child is in bed. I'm an only child and absolutely thrive on my alone time, I love it! I have a 30 min each way commute which I was initially apprehensive about before starting the job but I really enjoy it to have time to plan for/reflect on my day

It used to be very rare, as DH worked from home right in the middle of the house so I couldn't help but hear him and his colleagues all day. Then he died. And I stopped going to work. Most days I am alone for the time DC are at school and after they go to sleep finally at about 10pm for a few hours until I go to bed (at least 1 DC sleeps in my bed).

DramaAlpaca · 25/02/2022 23:15

Often. I make sure I have time to myself every day. I need it. It's easy to find time alone now my children are grown up.

MargaretThursday · 25/02/2022 23:15

Rarely now dh works at home. He doesn't really get it, and says he's very quiet.

I sometimes lock up at work and that's blissfully alone.

Louisianagumbo · 25/02/2022 23:16

Not fricking enough!!

MimosaFields · 25/02/2022 23:19

I live alone. When my son comes to visit, it's nice but I always look forward to having my own space after each visit. I'm 50, divorced and I cannot imagine ever living with someone again
