Tesco delivery cancelled

Has anyone else had their order cancelled today with very little notice? Am fuming. Tried to get through on the phone and guess what, there's a long wait time. No explanation or compensation given. I pay for a delivery pass and I now can't get another delivery all week - fuming!!!

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I took it as one of those things, definitely not “fuming”

While it’s inconvenient, unless there is a very specific reason for you to be that upset (ie disabled and unable to leave the house) then I’d chalk it up as one of those things

Not to be a downer but with everything going on in Ukraine at the moment I feel like things are in perspective a bit more for me at the moment so I’d really try and temper my reaction

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 25/02/2022 14:51

FFS so we're expected to just take shit service on the chin because there are bigger world problems? Ok then 🙄

Mine was cancelled today too. Are you in Cambridgeshire?

LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana · 25/02/2022 14:54

Ours was cancelled a few weeks ago due to lack of drivers.

Nope I'm in Yorkshire.

I'm sure there is a reason why Hmm

BeyondMyWits · 25/02/2022 14:59

There are bigger world problems involved... probably covid, driver shortage etc they don't just cancel on a whim. Though I suppose they could send someone with covid to deliver your shopping now.

MrsMcNally · 25/02/2022 14:59

This happened to me a while back and it’s really annoying! A first world problem for sure but when you have things lined up and planned it’s quite inconvenient to be let down for your weekly shop at the last minute. When it happened to me the most annoying part was how totally unapologetic Tesco was - they didn’t even give me a voucher or something minor to apologise.

nearlyspringyay · 25/02/2022 15:00

I tried to book a delivery today, nothing available until Wednesday. They must have massive driver issues.

Creeeper · 25/02/2022 15:00

I mean that’s literally not what I said at all but your reaction says a lot so 🤷‍♀️

How utterly selfish and narrow minded of you. It's a Tesco delivery!

It's happened 3 times for us since new year.

Tesco used to be really reliable but we've had two deliveries just not turn up and no useful information from the call centre and one got cancelled a couple of hours before.

We've started shopping at the Lidl down the road as going to the big supermarket is a mission and takes ages. Getting deliveries should be a time saver but I've had enough now!

Eveready345 · 25/02/2022 15:07

Yeah, mine was cancelled this morning, Yorkshire too.

Clockbookbeast · 25/02/2022 15:10

I'd find this more than inconvenient as I'm disabled and rely on my weekly tesco delivery to feed me and dc. However as a one off I'd accept it as one of those things. I have for years because of the worry they'll cancel an order always had extras in (tins, uht milk, bread in freezer). The drivers that come to me seem to say staff shortages have become an even bigger problem since Christmas. Our store has a few shop staff that can fill in but because of insurance /having right driving licence it's very minimal.
As an aside if you are disabled you can register as a priority customer which can help with booking slots.

Sirzy · 25/02/2022 15:12

Well if your not happy with the service then go to the shops yourself!

junglejane66 · 25/02/2022 15:16

Mine turned up fine this morning, with a couple of great substitutions, happy days, sorry about the poor service you received OP, Sad

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/02/2022 15:28

Best surely to find out why first?

liquidrevolution · 25/02/2022 15:33

Mine was 30 mins late. I'm in the SE. Driver said problems with dispatch computer (or something, was only half listening). Maybe its national?

NannyGythaOgg · 25/02/2022 15:55

National issues, thousands cancelled throughout the UK

Crunchymum · 25/02/2022 15:55

I think people are massively missing the point

  1. being fed up your shopping hasn't turned up is no way means you don't care about bigger world issues
  2. when you book an online shop its usually to avoid going to the shops in person (for whatever reason!)

Not to be a downer but with everything going on in Ukraine at the moment I feel like things are in perspective a bit more for me at the moment so I’d really try and temper my reaction

AIBU would be a ghost town if everyone took this advice Shock

  • I am aware this is in chat and not AIBU

Right, but there is no need to be “fuming” about this surely?
girlmom21 · 25/02/2022 15:58

She's pissed off because of the lack of notice, explanation, replacement slot and customer service. That's completely justifiable.

There will be people waiting for deliveries so they can do the kids teas or so there's milk for breakfast in the morning.

Cupcakegirl13 · 25/02/2022 16:08

Yes mine’s been cancelled today too with a couple of hours notice , first time ever and have been a delivery saver costumer for 8 years or so . But it is a massive inconvenience for sure. It would be helpful if they at least said why.

GirlInACountrySong · 25/02/2022 16:09

Maybe they have staff problems

You can't just draft in cover, everyone has been covering everyone else's job best they can for 2 years!

Staff are probably off with covid....or stress!!

dizzygirl1 · 25/02/2022 16:14

There's a large assumption on here (and most social media) that a shopping cancellation with no warning and no option to rebook for days/weeks is no issue but If you're disabled or have ro use public transport or don't have a supermarket near then it causes a whole load of issues. Not all of those are fixable with a careless 'don't be so lazy, just go to the shop yourself' some people can't hence their news for online shopping!
