What would nuclear war look like?

Trigger warning Not for anyone feeling anxious about impending doom.

Purely for hypothetical speculation.

Who would hit first and where? What are the major European targets? Could Russia reach the US with nuclear weapons?

Would a nuclear bomb in London be felt in Scotland? Would China get involved? I'm curious how it would all play out.

@EngTech

A TV programme called Threads was on BBC a few years ago

Very accurate on what would happen

Me, I would hope I was taken out in the first strike as would not want to be around for living in the aftermath 😔

We were shown that at school. Very disturbing

Have we gone back in time to 1983? Major deja vu here.

Lordy, I'll be the child doing that to mum!

Clarice yes, I know what you mean.

I would just hope to be near to it, I have no interest in the world that comes after.

i remember they showed us 'Threads' at school in the 80's
I watched this recently and it was chilling.

This film was first shown on TV in 1984, right on the middle of the Cold War.

People must have been terrified.

StarCat2020 · 25/02/2022 23:46

When the Wind Blows (same illustrator as The Snowman)
This is also a film (cartoon) but even though it seems child-friendly due to the cartoonish looks, I would advise caution depending on your children's age and personality before letting them watch it.
