But yesterday 😮😮😮

So where I use to live each summer they did some club. They did trips, workshops just a lot of different things.

I remember I went bike riding and I chatting to this boy. Then I remember I did this drama workshop and I was really shy child/teen. So quiet and reserved and acting out in front of everyone was bad enough but with this boy from bike riding it was embarrassing.

So I remember having a huge crush on this boy I never knew him that well but I knew his name.
We never went to the same school in fact we wasn't even friends or anything else. I just had those couple of moment with a stranger.

I have recently switched to sky and getting into Netflix.
So I decided to watch this series as it really looked good. I saw this actor and said this looks like so and so from this area. The boy I had a crush on who I was embarrassed about doing a scene with in this drama workshop.
So I continued watching this series and couldn't shake this feeling that it was him so needed confirmation. I looked at his on screen name and real name. I only knew his first name so it was him. I was shocked and I said to my husband I know this guy.
Then I looked him up and he an actor now. I am so like shocked. Well how could I be when I went to that drama workshop all them years ago.
Many crazy things like this happen to me.

So someone you once knew is now an actor. Ok then. I taught a girl years ago who was 'mother of the week' on Call the Midwife. I know a few people who were extras in Harry Potter. My friend's wife's brother was in a play with David Tennant.

ChiselandBits · 20/02/2022 09:00

Oh and I used to go to a club with someone who was on the Apprentice. (she was rubbish.. Got to about week 4).

GlitterSquid · 20/02/2022 09:00

That's nothing. A girl I knew was once on FunHouse with Pat Sharp. Unbelievable.

I’m still annoyed that I wasn’t allowed to audition for the Fun House when they the came to my school. The PE staff choice who could audition. In think it should be brought back as day adult activity. I think loads of people would pay to do it.
ChiselandBits · 20/02/2022 09:17

Oh and I used to work with one of the people on the original 7up series

Sparklingbrook · 20/02/2022 09:22

That’s a very long winded way of saying you knew an actor years ago. What other crazy happenings do you have?

A customer I used to deal with at the bank knew Bobby Davro’s cleaner.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 20/02/2022 09:24

Someone from Byker Grove once got on the bus I was travelling on. She didn't sit next to me though, she went to the back.

FinallyFluid · 20/02/2022 09:26

I know a man, who knows a man, who knows a woman, who knows a man who fills the Queens hot water bottle. Crazy world innit. Grin

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 20/02/2022 09:28

I'm pretty sure I'm going to win this game with my stories! I stood behind Caron Keating in a queue in C&A in Belfast. I also saw James Nesbitt walking down the street in Coleraine and Paul Rankin spoke to me in his restaurant. I win, yes? 😂

ChiselandBits · 20/02/2022 09:32

Oo, I have another one.. I served Steve Davis in a shop once. He was quite rude and unhelpful.

ImInStealthMode · 20/02/2022 09:37

I went to school with a someone that did a good long stint in Coronation Street.

(I didn't know her though. She was in the year above me)

@GiveMyHeadPeaceffs

You were nearly winning until Paul Rankin spoke to you.

Not tenuous enough. Grin

I saw Jeff Banks at the Clothes Show Live in the 90's. He walked past me and I touched his arm.

Not washed my hand since.

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 20/02/2022 09:45

I bumped into (literally) Nigella Lawson at an exhibition. She smiled.

BrambleRoses · 20/02/2022 09:50

People are harsh! It is a surprise when you make a link like that.

Someone I was at university with is now a fairly well known public figure. In some ways I’m not surprised as she was always very articulate and smart. However she was also incredibly puffed full of her own self importance and arrogant and used to steal. So I do cringe when she’s touted as a role model for young people. Last I heard she was trying unsuccessfully to become a singer so I guess she wanted to be ‘famous.’

x2boys · 20/02/2022 09:51

I used to go school with Lisa Riley and guides ,although she was two or three years below me
More tenuously I walked past the actor who plays Gary in Corrie ,in Manchester ,I saw Kirk from Corrie ,in the Trafford centre, and Jason Kenny opened my oldest son's Xmas fair a few years ago.

RoyKent · 20/02/2022 09:56

I don't understand 😕

Iamanunsafebuilding · 20/02/2022 10:00

Simon Pegg's cousin taught both my kids at school

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 20/02/2022 10:02

@FinallyFluid damn it! My dad was with me at the time, I knew I should have said he'd spoken to him and not me! (He was actually very nice and I then bought his overpriced wheaten bread...his café also made my most favourite sandwich.) I'm so disappointed I haven't won...oh, my mum met Gok Wan once!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 20/02/2022 10:04

Oh and my flat mate at university dated Ed Byrne! (His mate, Stuart, was much funnier)

CrackerGal · 20/02/2022 10:15

So who was it then OP?

NinaDefoe · 20/02/2022 10:19

@CrackerGal

So who was it then OP?
I want to know that too!
ThatsNotMyGolem · 20/02/2022 10:20

Why such a dramatic back story? You knew someone who went on to become an actor. It's not uncommon.

Richtea2 · 20/02/2022 10:28

You all miserable people.

Have a good Sunday some of you need it.
