DS lost a tooth this eve, didnt even know he had a loose one.
He's put his tooth out for tooth fairy and a wee note for her too.
Except its near midnight and we haven't any cash in the house or car or anywhere!
Some loose pennies but no pound coins-all were used in parking meters I think!
Any ideas? we're tired and drawing blanks here!!

IOU?

JustBkind · 18/02/2022 23:39

Write a note from the tooth fairy explaining that they are very busy right now and the weather isn’t helping but they are very happy he has left this wonderful tooth for them and they will stop by in the next few days and bring a really great reward.

Utini · 18/02/2022 23:39

Tell him that she wouldn't be able to fly in this stormy weather, and she'll probably visit tomorrow night instead?

Legoisthebest · 18/02/2022 23:40

A letter under the pillow from the tooth fairy saying it was too dangerous for her to fly in the storm so she will come another night.

Legoisthebest · 18/02/2022 23:40

Ha ha...3 of us had the same idea at the same time Grin

AnimalTheDrummer · 18/02/2022 23:41

Tooth fairy can't fly because of the storm?

Utini · 18/02/2022 23:41

How does the letter get there if she can't fly in the storm to deliver it?

DropYourSword · 18/02/2022 23:41

She's not allowed to carry coins after a risk assessment from the storm. She can write an IOU and deliver coins once she has clearance to carry.

DropYourSword · 18/02/2022 23:42

@Utini

How does the letter get there if she can't fly in the storm to deliver it?
Ahhh, but SHE can fly in the storm. Just too risky to carry coins. Because...lightning conductor risk!
JustBkind · 18/02/2022 23:44

Then make sure you right another note when you leave the money saying thank you for being so understanding and we can’t wait to receive your next tooth etc.
You’re not the first and you won’t be the last!!

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/02/2022 23:44

Text from the tooth fairy, can't fly tonight but will be here soon

bonfireheart · 18/02/2022 23:44

That's a great idea from other, also if you have anything glittery add that on the letter to make it look more glittery. How old is DC? My DD couldn't differentiate between 10p and £1, as long as it shiny!

Utini · 18/02/2022 23:44

Ah of course! She's braver than me then!

Does DS have a money box? Could you borrow from there and pop it back over the weekend?

Rainallnight · 18/02/2022 23:50

What age is your DC? DD is five and has lost two teeth (bit of an early bird there) and we’ve realised she’s got NO idea of the value of money. She is into the idea of a ‘coin’ so 2p is the same as £2 to her. I’d leave the coppers if I were you, unless you have a seven year old.

NewYearNewMinty · 18/02/2022 23:54

Note from.the tooth fairy

Dear DC,

Due to Covid 19 we are not leaving coins under pillows at the present time but have transferred some money into mums account for you to choose a comic next time you go shopping.

Thank you for taking care of your teeth.

Love TF xx

BeaLola · 18/02/2022 23:54

Leave £5

NewYearNewMinty · 18/02/2022 23:55

Have no idea why that popped into my mind before the storm excuse as I've actually used that one myself!

Wouldyoubaby · 18/02/2022 23:57

Ours has also gone contact free since Covid, and so leaves robucks or money in my account for them to spend online 🙈

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/02/2022 23:58

Fairies can't fly in the gales, she be blown off course if she attempted to fly.

Redwinestillfine · 18/02/2022 23:58

Don't say anything. The tooth fairy is busy and it was ok windy she can come tomorrow, no biggie.

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/02/2022 23:59

Contact free is a great idea

CharacterForming · 19/02/2022 00:02

My tooth fairy had very special curly writing. It got a lot of practice because I'm chronically disorganised.

Mandofan · 19/02/2022 00:04

@Wouldyoubaby that is brilliant 😂 OP I would go down the contact free route or the IOU. Good luck!
