Suddenly on my own for tea...what should I have?

Unexpectedly rid of my kids for a couple of hours...going to watch a film and eat something nice...but what?!
I don't want to cook (much) but really don't like carry outs and ready meals are always disappointing...
Is there anything easy / decadent I could rustle up?! I'm needing to pop out anyway so happy to grab ingredients!

I'm unexpectedly alone too. I'm having mushrooms in peppercorn sauce on thick sliced garlic toast.

koalalala · 12/02/2022 17:28

I'd definitely have a macaroni cheese.

I'm not sure if this is because I no longer eat dairy and fantasise about it or if it's actually THAT good.

What about a Wagamama takeout? It's less takeaway than most.

Leftbutcameback · 12/02/2022 17:31

Chip butty, white wine, brownie!

Sexnotgender · 12/02/2022 17:34

Sourdough, avocado and poached egg.

With wine.

ToooOldForThis · 12/02/2022 17:43

@Poledra your fish pie spoke to me!
Sounds extremely sad but I've got some lovely fish cakes and a fancy packet of green veg (no peeling no chopping!)

And of course, wine, crisps, hummus and a creme egg for the win Grin

King prawn fried rice that’s my huge treat.

Hoolahoophop · 12/02/2022 18:00

I'm always have chilli prawn pasta. Garlic and chilli lightly fried in olive oil, large handful of halved cherry toms and gluttonous amounts of king prawns then stir though fresh pasta. Serves with a green salad and a large glass of chilled white wine. Posh chocolate for desert. Yum

thefirstmrsrochester · 12/02/2022 18:03

Mini cheeseboard, charcuterie and olives, dry white wine out of M&S.

Benjispruce5 · 12/02/2022 18:04

Sounds lush op. Enjoy!

bumblingbovine49 · 12/02/2022 18:05

@mumofone234

Rotisserie chicken, focaccia bread, olives, salad, etc. All you have to do is put it on a plate! Yum.
This is what I'd eat for maximum pleasure and minimum effort.
bigyellowTpot · 12/02/2022 18:09

Beans on toast. quick and easy and only a couple of pots to wash

Benjispruce5 · 12/02/2022 18:10

@bigyellowTpot so good and so underrated. Though I’d add cheese under the beans for maximum pleasure.Wink

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/02/2022 18:12
@HunterHearstHelmsley aren't they all sold out now?

I usually go for what @dancemom has suggested when it's just me. Also take the opportunity to indulge in a few treats without having to share with the kids.
That's what I read but my local has them! Waiting for delivery along with a salted caramel McFlurry. As you can tell, I'm a classy bird.

AffronttoBS · 12/02/2022 18:14

For my decadent lunch today, I had a yummy mixed olive crusty roll and baked Camembert cheese.

bigyellowTpot · 12/02/2022 18:20

@Benjispruce5 oh yes adding the cheese sounds great I could just eat that myself now. Or maybe the heinz beans and sausage instead of just beans.

Wotrewelookinat · 12/02/2022 18:22

Crispy jacket potato, big salad, avocado, olives.

Qwill · 12/02/2022 18:22

Champagne and blinis for me! I always have this in stock for these wonderful occasions!

How do you make your sauce please?
AAAAAGHH · 12/02/2022 18:39

Crackers and Cheese

SpiderVersed · 12/02/2022 18:40

I’m now wanting to evict my entire family and have exactly what I want all by my lonesome!

turnitonandoffagain · 12/02/2022 18:41

I’m having king prawns with chilli and garlic butter stirred into pasta. Quick and easy but a favourite.

I'll have what she's having! Smile
Useranon1 · 12/02/2022 18:48

Is anyone else invested on whether @HunterHearstHelmsley gets their chicken Big Mac?!

Knitter99 · 12/02/2022 18:54

Crisps and dip and a chocolate orange.
I wouldn't waste any calories on actual food if no-one was watching me
