Help - I peed my pants!

PrettyPissyPants · 05/02/2022 15:26

Really wasn't sure where to post this and name changed, because I'm mortified, but also need to know if this is a normal bodily response!?!

So, I was playing about with my DD's hammock...as you do. Just sat on it swinging approx 4ft off of the floor.

Then my lardy arse broke one of the hooks it was hanging on and I landed on aforementioned lardy arse and my elbow.

Cue a lot of laughter from myself and DD and a sore arse/elbow. Pick myself up and dust myself off and carry on...

About five minutes later, I notice the spot where I hit the ground was wet and sure enough I've gone and peed myself. Not a little...quite a lot...and somehow didn't notice!

I'm early 30s and other than the rare dribble if I've held it in all day and just reached a toilet, nothing like this has ever happened before. Currently running myself a bath and feeling a bit sorry for myself.

So, please, tell me...have you ever fallen and peed yourself? Is that normal or not really?

Hammock is going in the bin, I think!

TIA

Just waiting for all the stories of posters who have wet themselves.
Not.

Sparklingbrook · 05/02/2022 15:55

I have never fallen and peed myself.

FazedNotPhased · 05/02/2022 15:56
Hmm
LubaLuca · 05/02/2022 15:56

We're you bare from the waist down?

LefttoherownDevizes · 05/02/2022 15:57

If it was that much pee you would have surely noticed you were wet will before you found the wet patch on the floor? Confused

FelicityBob · 05/02/2022 15:58

Find it hard to believe it took 5 minutes to realise you peed yourself when it was “quite a lot”

Mostlyjustrunning · 05/02/2022 15:58

My ds has. He used to do that breath holding thing where if you fall and hurt yourself you go unconscious. He wet himself a couple of times when he did it.

tackling · 05/02/2022 15:59

In case you didn't know OP, we get quite a lot of pee trolls and fetishists here.

Inthesameboatatmo · 05/02/2022 15:59

Could it be from the impact? Sorry op it sounds mortifying but the impact and sort of shock as you hit the floor combined type of thing.

AnotherMansCause · 05/02/2022 16:00

I'm confused how you managed to wee enough to wet through your clothes & onto the floor, but failed to notice for several minutes.

AnotherMansCause · 05/02/2022 16:02

FWIW, having occasional bladder control issues is not uncommon OP, especially for women who've given birth. Hence the popularity of various products available in the supermarket. But you'd usually know if/when it happened, unless there's an additional medical issue.

PrettyPissyPants · 05/02/2022 16:06

Sorry all.

Didn't realise you get weirdos on here and appreciatw the username doesn't help my cause, but I promise this is genuine.

Forgot to mention that I had a nerve injury after a much worse fall a few years back...completely forgot about it, as I fully recovered, suffered with a loss of sensation/incontinence after that, so perhaps I have triggered it? Movement is fine, but can already tell I've lost some touch sensation. Going to give 111 a call. So annoyed with myself.

Oh yes there was this one time I...Nope.

FelicityBob · 05/02/2022 16:10

I really don’t think you need to call 111

LizzieMacQueen · 05/02/2022 16:12

Had you been drinking (alcohol) OP. OK. I mean, were you drunk?

Iwonderifiwonderwhy · 05/02/2022 16:13

It’s called stress incontinence OP. It’s extremely common in women who have given birth. It can be triggered by coughing/sneezing, or by a more major stress on the bladder-control muscle like a fall. I for example can no longer use a trampoline but am fine coughing.

Why on earth woukd you throw away your daughter’s hammock? Wash it or hose it down and stop freaking out. Maybe do some pelvic floor exercises.

PrettyPissyPants · 05/02/2022 16:14

No, not a drinker.

Well, I've just been for a jog and the same thing has happened - not a lot, but enough for me to feel really yuk all the way home.

Freaking out a bit tbh. Where's that amazing mumsnetter called pelvicfloorclenchreminder again?

Op, I am going to look into Pilates. Hth and best of luck.

FawnFrenchieMum · 05/02/2022 16:16

Assuming your not a troll I’m going to answer honestly, even with all the people poking fun at you.
Sometimes when I’m badly backed up, the stool must press on something that means when I stand suddenly, I wee myself. Not sure if it’s the same as when you hit the floor maybe?

Buttermuffin · 05/02/2022 16:18

Why would you call 111 because you wet yourself ? What do you expect them to do?

It's stress incontinence.

PaulRuddsWife · 05/02/2022 16:19

Your username is Pretty Pissy Pants and you want to hear stories about how other people (women) have also pissed themselves?

Righty-oh Hmm

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 05/02/2022 16:21

Assuming this is real if you have had herve damage before 3uou might have damaged that again and no harm in getting checked out.

PrettyPissyPants · 05/02/2022 16:26

Thanks to those who are kindly taking the time to seriously reply.

Like I said, I appreciate that the username makes me look a bit suspect, but I truly didn't think you got fetishists on a parenting site. Every day's a learning day!

Ringing 111, as I have reduced sensation below the waist (hence not feeling I had wet myself on impact) and am worried I've set off an old nerve injury.

OP posts:
JugglingJanuary · 05/02/2022 16:27

It's not unusual for that to happen when someone gets a fright. Combined with your history, it's hardly surprising.

If you're having problems with losing touch sensation etc definitely ring 111. But definitely tell them about your history!

You owe your DD a hammock & don't arsed about on her stuff if you're over the weight it's intended for! Naughty mummy!!

justasking111 · 05/02/2022 17:10

I would be concerned about loss of feeling that's very worrying
