What were these biscuits called?

I remember them being like party rings, but more 'flower' shaped (in the stereotypical way you draw a flower - crimped). They had icing on them and the icing was brown, white and pink, in a combination of those, some had all three, some just two.

I know I havent made them up, but I cant for the life of me rember what they were called.

In fact they might have been rectangle shape now I am thinking more about them but def had the soft marshmallow on top :)

GellerYeller · 23/01/2022 23:59

@Inanun2 Jamboree? We're they in packs with orange and pink varieties in each? You can get them now, called Jam Mallows. Home Bargains and B and M.

GellerYeller · 23/01/2022 23:59

@Inanun2 they're pink only now.

My favourites were Gypsy Creams, and Abbey Crunch.

My best friend back in the 80s always had a packet of Abbey Crunch in. I'd ride my bike over to his on a Saturday morning, we'd put the world to rights over a cup of tea and a few biscuits.

HareAndBear · 01/02/2023 23:20

Abbey crunch and Lincoln were delicious but hated and still hate lemon puffs. Where have all these biscuits gone?!

hiredandsqueak · 01/02/2023 23:37

Anyone else mourn the demise of Morning Coffee biscuits?

pigsinoodies · 01/02/2023 23:51

Ahh, 'Rover' biscuits - or what my gran used to call 'dog biscuits' after she'd scoffed the best ones out over Christmas. 😂

Weren't they Mikados? There was a jingle that went "Kimberlys, Mikados and Coconut Creams, someone you love would live some mum"!

Viviennemary · 01/02/2023 23:58

I think I vaguely remember them. Were they different shapes.

NImumconfused · 01/02/2023 23:59

Love not live, obvs!

GirlInACountrySong · 23/01/2022 17:29

i loved the shortbread type biscuit in that selection....they had a distinctly different flavour

don't make biscuits like they used to!

Yes I loved those, I believe they were called 'royal Scot' biscuits, they were my favourite

I used to love the chocolate 'gypsy creams' too

Newdawnfreedom · 02/02/2023 00:05

Morning coffees! Oh all the things we forget.
Loved these, iced shorties and party rings 😋
Lemon puffs can get in the bin though.

Ooh, I haven't had a Marie biscuit in years. Loved them - like rich tea biscuits on steroids.
Looks like they still make them though. I just googled and they came up on the Tesco website. Might have to add a packet to my next delivery now.

I loved all of those, but they were really Irish biscuits weren’t they? My Granny used to send us big tins of Mikados, coconut creams and Kimberley’s over from Ireland at Christmas.

MissyB1 · 02/02/2023 07:29

And does anyone remember Arrowroot biscuits?

I didn't realise they weren't in the rest of the UK - love that your granny sent them over, we do that for my sister now with emergency parcels of Veda and Tayto crisps!

My dad loves arrowroot biscuits, you can still get them in Tesco.

Newdawnfreedom · 02/02/2023 07:42

We still have Kimberly and mikado biscuits in Ireland 😋 Haven't had an iced shortie or morning coffee since I was a kid growing up in UK though

Did you think that after a full year the OP had forgotten they'd been given this answer on the first page? A year ago.
