Inspired by anither Maccue's thread on here.. yay or nay?

Interested to try it but just wondered what others thought.

Tasty or tasteless?

It was fine. As all mcD burgers are!

ExtremelyDetermined · 22/01/2022 09:45

I liked it (I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but fancied trying it).

DavetheCat2001 · 22/01/2022 09:55

Texture wise is it 'meaty' or more like a beanburger?

MoiraNotRuby · 22/01/2022 09:58

DD had one and said it was fine. It is meaty. So meaty that she got me to try some to confirm it was fake meat and not real meat!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 22/01/2022 09:59

It’s a beyond burger patty, so meat sub, not bean or vegetable based.

Doubleglouceater · 22/01/2022 09:59

‘Meaty’. I really like it.

DCINightingale · 22/01/2022 10:00

Yup I really liked it.

DavetheCat2001 · 22/01/2022 10:00

Thanks all.

Going to tret us all to a MD takeaway this evening.

Haven't had one in ages.

DD has Covid at the moment so is cooped up, so hopefully will cheer her up a bit!

I absolutely love it - and I’m not generally a fan of non meat burgers.

RedCandyApple · 22/01/2022 10:03

I haven’t had one but my son said it was nice , I always worry they will give me a meat one by mistake as our McDonald’s is known for constantly getting orders wrong 😒

RobinWoodPrinceofLeaves · 22/01/2022 10:04

I liked it, but it did taste a bit false. Maybe preferred the fresh salad, gherkins etc. but overall it was fine. You need a double cheeseburger on the side to bulk it up. Would have been nicer as a beanburger.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 22/01/2022 10:12

I didn’t like it. It just tasted like a very cheap tasteless fake meat product covered in sauce. I much prefer the vegetable deluxe burger. To be fair I’m not keen on meat substitutes but wanted to try it.

EeeICouldRipATissue · 22/01/2022 10:13

I love them!

Christmas1988 · 22/01/2022 10:13

It was ok, I think it needed more ‘sandwich sauce’ as far as vegan cheese go I thought it was really good.

gogohm · 22/01/2022 10:30

Dd said it was nice but she got the fake cheese substituted for proper cheese

ElftonWednesday · 22/01/2022 10:31

About time. They are way behind Burger King on this.

BooksAndHooks · 22/01/2022 10:32

It’s the same as the wimpy burger. It was hard to taste the burger as it’s overwhelmed by the dressings. Would be better with either a thicker patty or two Pattie. Definitely an improvement on the dry vegetable goujons they have.

enjoyingscience · 22/01/2022 10:33

It was great.

I can’t eat the Burger King one (the plant burger) because they cook on the same grill as the meat burgers. The BK vegan royale (chicken style) is actually vegan, and is lovely, but I definitely prefer the McDonald’s one.

Robostripes · 22/01/2022 10:34

I’m veggie and I like it. The cheese is nice considering it’s vegan (normally I get annoyed with vegans ruining cheese for us veggies). A big improvement on the tasteless veggie dippers that they put in a bun and try to pass off as a burger.

Atla · 22/01/2022 10:34

I like it 👍

PurpleDaisies · 22/01/2022 10:35

I really liked it but I still miss their proper bean burgers from a few years ago. I don’t love all the veggie/vegan options becoming fake meat.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 22/01/2022 10:36

I enjoyed it. The actual burger seemed small in the bun though.

Pinkstars2501 · 22/01/2022 10:47

It's ok. I agree with previous poster that it wasn't easy to really taste the burger through all the dressing and salad, but it was ok.

The only thing I'm not keen on is the way it sort of disappears before you taste it. It kind of disintegrated in my mouth so I didn't even reply have chance to properly chew the patty. Maybe that's how all non-meat burgers are, I don't know because I've not tried others. I did miss the chewy element of a beef burger.

Mumzoo5070 · 22/01/2022 14:09

I love them!

TangledUp789 · 22/01/2022 14:30

Me too. And I really miss Burger King's veggie burgers, they were so nice Sad The Vegan Royale tasted and smelled SO meaty I was paranoid they'd given me a chicken one instead and had to throw half of it away. The Halloumi King is the only nice sounding, non-meaty style veggie burger at Burger King, and then they make that non vegetarian by cooking it with chicken and fish products Sad
