Black Mirror- White Bear [Contains spoilers]

I don’t condone the death penalty and this type of punishment, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. Especially after the recent Arthur and Star case.

For those who don’t know, a woman wakes up in a house with no memory. She finds a photo of a girl who she believes is her daughter.

As she wanders about, she sees people watching and filming. She begs them for help but no one answers.

Then she’s hunted by people in scary masks.

In the end, she ends up in a studio where it’s revealed the girl isn’t her daughter, but a child she helped kidnap, torture and murder with her deceased fiancé.

Her punishment, is this. She gets her memory wiped, and every day she has the same ordeal.

Wakes up, runs, discovers what she did and then it’s all repeated.

The public are encouraged to watch and film.

It's an excellent episode and Michael Smiley (Tyres from Spaced) is great in it. I know it's been out for years, but perhaps you'd consider asking for a spoiler alert to be added to the thread?

I’ll request one. It has been out for a long while as you said but I guess there are people who have so why seen it

They are so well made and really make you think “ god this could actually happen if society went a certain way “

My favourite episode is San Junipero, I’ve watched it multiple times , love the soundtrack , the styling and also the message.

I love Black Mirror. The first series was on channel 4 when my son was born, the first episode (watched while I fed my newborn) nauseated me so much I didn’t watch it again until it was on Netflix! They’re so clever.

In answer to your question, I couldn’t condone that as punishment. I also don’t condone the punishment of Rafe Spall’s character in White Christmas - it’s torture.

There are some twisted scenarios that shows how far our humanity can go when technology is involved

That is an an especially disturbing and utterly brilliant episode.

It's some of the scariest tv I've watched in years, I think the writing is just genius. C'mon Charlie Brooker, do some more .

Holy shit, I've never watched any of the Black Mirror episodes before, on account of being a giant wuss, but decided to watch White Bear after reading this and have had to stop for a break halfway through to calm myself down

Excellent though. I'll fortify myself with a hot chocolate and some dog snuggles, and will finish it later.

Carrie watch SAN Junipero after to get some nicer vibes. It's sad but lovely too.

My favourite of all episodes along with "shut up and dance" which is on the same lines.
I love how he plays with empathy and then total lack of it when its revealed what they did

Tracking definitely!!! The blocking of images no. Even when it was brought up during the episode I thought it was a bad idea

I liked the tracking and the health part too

Knowing where my child was ill and deficient would be a big help
