We are having chicken schnitzel and I am putting some ground almonds into the breadcrumbs as my older DS is a restrictive eater and he needs some extra calories. I am having this with sweet potato mash, peas, roasted tomatoes and apple sauce.

then strawberry custard tarts (M&S).

Some kind of beef stew/hot pot/bourgignon creation. With jacket potatoes I think.

WeeFae, I normally use diced beef, potatoes, carrots, onion and then throw a ready chopped casserole pack with swede, carrot and leek in with beef stock cubes. I know some people use diced lamb or mince and some serve with either pickled cabbage or beetroot, but I just serve with bread rolls.

Chips (homemade) and cheese… cab to make anything else! Only the dog and me here - she’s having chopped raw beef, grated carrot, dog mixer and a bit of dog food in gravy to pull it all together.

CockneyDoris · 17/01/2022 16:46

** cba not ‘cab’ 🙄

Chicken kebabs made by DS.
I'm getting a night off Grin

I'm having vegetable stew. Tesco were selling large chickens for £3 as a clubcard deal so I bought one roasted it and then made my own stock which is the base of the stew.

Roast chicken quarters, salad with lemon and olive oil dressing and couscous with lemon, coriander, pinenuts and sultanas. The kids will likely turn their noses up at the couscous.

some amazing sounding meals here. :) The schnitzel went down very well with everyone here. DS1 ate the most enormous portion, and even managed to choke down some sweet corn and grapes (odd combo I know, but whatever works sometimes).

I shall peruse this thread for lovely ideas for tomorrow. :)

Vegan macaroni cheese with green salad and roast balsamic tomatoes.

We're on Chinese takeaway (I know, on a Monday!)

Dh had a rotten day at work (and only got home at 8:30), I've been in hospital all day for a regular treatment that totally wipes me out, ds offered to cook, dd2 is out! So we went for the easy option. And it was the right decision. Having a glass of wine now, and then off to bed.
