How clean and tidy is your house generally?

Such as day to day. On the scale of spotless all the time to absolutely filthy?

I’m guessing mist would be in the middle somewhere? But I know it depends on standards.

I think I’m in the middle but closer to the filthy end Blush

My house is rarely tidy as I feel like I’m constantly running both the dishh washer and the washing machine.

Clean clothes are always on the floor waiting to be put away.

The hoover comes out once a week, s does the mop.

The toilet is cleaned every other day. The bathroom once a week.

I can’t remember the last time I cleaned the windows/window sills/skirting boards.

Kitchen is the tidiest and cleanest room in the house… every day. But it’s used the most.

My downstairs is clutter free, but the decor such as the doors/handles/furniture/sodas dated as we can’t afford to replace at the moment… so it brings down the house imo.

I'd say a 9, because I'm never happy. I don't have an OCD level when it comes to actually cleaning (although Hoover and dust every day and can't leave any washing up it gets done as soon as it's in the sink, I must wash up 10 times a day), I would say I do a deep clean once a week but EVERYTHING has to be tidy at all times, neat, curtains open, windows open, oil diffusers on so it smells nice, cushions plumped and evenly spaced, throws on the sofa tidy, . It's no fun, it takes up a huge portion of my day and I can't help it. If I sit down and see the sofa opposite has a wonky cushion or spot a rouge toy under I get up and put it right, I never sit down for long.

Oh and I have a 5 year old and a 5 month old, it's a joke how much pressure I put myself under for no reason 🙃

Could you afford a cleaner for a few hours. X

@PaddleBoardingMomma I am also like this, I have a 11,9 and 1 yr old and a 20 yr old in the holidays at home and my house is very clean and very tidy.

I clean the kitchen, polish, do door handles, clean bathrooms, if windows have marks I do those, hoover and wash the floors everyday day .
I very rarely sit down, I am working on being more tolerant of mess as I feel like I miss so much of my childrens life's for a clean house.

Cloths don't make the other clothes smell if you let them dry before putting them in the wash so I hang them on the edge. By the time I put something else in they have dried so I tip them in.

This is it exactly, I feel like I'm missing out on my kids and all I seem to say is "put those toys back please" 😞 I too am trying to my tolerant but I feel so physically tense if there's mess, it's like I can't sit and look at it?

In the week its spotless as everyone is out all day and I have a cleaning routine I stick to. At the weekend whatever gets dropped or left on the side gets left
I'm not going to worry about it whoever decides to come round. Not that I think anybody would notice or care for that matter

@MogsBestestFurball, I have a spare washing up bowl (plastic so doesn't hold smells) that sits on the side in the utility. All the damp/ dirty cloths, mop heads and anything else damp and waiting for a load goes in there. They are sitting right above the washing machine and even I can't forget to put them in when the right load comes along!

On the subject of the thread, we're a state atm. Building work. DH cleans every evening when the builder has gone but we're twitching to get it properly deep cleaned when it's finished. I'm decluttering while that happens so we can deep clean and be tidier in a few weeks' time. Normally I'd say a 7 on both, could be better, have seen worse, no healthy and safety issues.
