Watching Only Connect and discussing who we'd rather invite to a party-
The Beckhams or the Coren- Mitchells?
We'd choose the C-Ms. that's the only question I am able to answer 😆😆

Both??? C-M's would be amazing fun but I loved DB for 20+ years and I think VB seems like she would be a laugh too. So prob the Beckhams.

I’ll have the Beckhams, if nobody else wants them! Not totally sure what I’d say to David, but Victoria looks friendly and sweet, whereas the C-Ms humour is too ranty for me - funny in a sketch, not so funny if you are stuck on the receiving end of it all night.

Actually, DS has a really complicated Lego train he needs built, so DB and DH can do that, while me and VB can have a chat. She has obviously lived a very different life to me, would be interesting to hear about it. And she doesn’t look like she’d just talk at you, she seems like you could have an actual back and forth concert with her, whereas with the C-Ms it seems like you would just be their audience.

Beckhams please. I imagine VB to be very witty and self-deprecating. I imagine we would drink wine and take selfies. Usies. The whole enchilada.

CM's because they are both smart, engaging and fun. Victoria would be invited to step in but her thick as shit husband David can fuck off. I'd remind him the knighthood will never happen.

David M on his own. Adore him.

Cannot think of anyone duller than David B, something v off about him also. Although Victoria B isn’t far behind, although she has some sycophantic ‘fans’, who love to go on about how ‘hilarious’ she is 🙄 she really, really isn’t

Oh I can't abide Victoria C-M; I find her spiel on Only Connect so smug and cringily not as funny as she thinks it is.

I've watched only connect a few times and I feel so thick I usually don't get any of them. I'd probably invite neither couple!!

I'm related to 2/3 of a team who not only went on the show but won the series.

I think I'm doing well to get a few questions right.

I think the two Victorias would get on great. Both sharp witted and self deprecating

CM all the way. Nothing wrong with Mr and Mrs Beck's, I just think I'd have more in common with the CM (and kind of wish they'd adopt me even though I'm an adult).

The CMs of course, both highly intelligent and amusing people. Why would you want a couple of dimwits at your party?

CMs, but I'd feel thick as shit and dull all night and would probably wish I'd gone for the Bs.

Kind of funny to mention sycophantic VB fans when you've just said how you adore DM...

Sycophants is generally the word that springs to mind whenever VCM is discussed on MN tbh.

It would be hard work for me to keep up with the CM in terms of intelligent conversation and wit . I’ll take the Beckham’s but only for a cup of tea and a biscuit. VB obviously has an eating disorder and I wouldn’t want to make her feel anxious .

Everyone I know who knows the Beckhams, mainly have kids at school with her kids have all said how lovely VB is and that the kids are all very nice and polite and well brought up

I guess it would depend if I wanted to feel incredibly stupid (CMs) or incredibly fat (VB)🤣

If I ignore that, I think any of them would be interesting company.

I always wonder if all their extended families get together, as Alexander Armstrong is in there too, so they could all come.

I'd love Alexander Armstrong to come for dinner. His "Who do you think you are?" was the funniest I've ever seen.

A friend's DD had a work placement at VB's fashion design company. She said that VB was very involved and was nice. The staff were well looked after as well. She said that she thought DB was rather creepy.

A friend of mine's little sister got hit on by DB at an event once. She was very young at the time. Definitely some creepiness

Victoria CM and Hadley Freeman would be on the guest list for an 80s-teen-movies-and-wine night.
