8yo got us up at 6 as agreed. Although he outdid himself by thinking 12:30am was 5:30 so he opened his stocking.

Everyone still asleep here too, I have been awake since 6 and didn’t go to sleep until 2.30, going to be a long day, hope I don’t fall asleep in my lunch 😂

Morning...up at 6:30 as the new kitten was sitting on my head demanding breakfast! Kids (teens) and other two cats still sleeping... enjoying a quiet Diet Coke in bed (v bad habit) before the day begins...

I'm awake! I have insomnia so it's not surprising but I actually got a decent amount of sleep at about 7 hours in 2-4 hour blocks!

Unfortunately the kids won't be here til later and DH is snoring beside me

Morning! Merry Christmas to everyone! I've been up since 3 (old woman, crap sleeping patterns). I'm at DD's house and she, son in law and dgd are still in bed. It's Christmas! What are they waiting for???

Woke up about 20 minutes ago. Having a coffee in bed, with one of the cats snuggled up next to me. DC are adults so might not wake up for a while yet. But I like having some quiet time before the day starts.

Merry Christmas! I'm awake to feed 3 day old DS. I've had 4 hours in total and feel like I'm dying, 3 days post c-section too. I could honestly go back to bed and never get back out!

Oh gosh! 3 days? Congratulations!!! Are there more kids to wake up or is this your first?

I was feeling sorry for myself because I picked last night to have insomnia, but this definitely puts it into context. I hope everyone looks after you today!

Been awake since 6.15, kids have opened stockings, we are now just chilling for 20 mins before the chaos resumes in the lounge 😩 gotta wait for the rest to wake up too..

I snuck downstairs to put the heating on & the lights etc, and am back in bed with a cup of tea, while I wait for the kids to wake up.

DH’s father died a few days ago, so Dh has gone back to his home country for a couple of weeks so we’re on our own, but under the circumstances I definitely don’t begrudge poor MIL.

Hosting lots of friends today though, so I think I might need to squeeze a lunchtime nap in!

Morning all, was awake at 7.15am, in bed still.. DD3 woke up at 6am shouting mummy mummy, I left her for a few minutes and she has dozed off again. Debating whether to go Christmas day Mass today, my entire body is aching and have an industry of things to do today as I'm hosting..

Been up since 6, had 2 cups of tea and DH just about to make me a coffee. Waiting for DD18 to wake up..... miss those days of being woken at silly o'clock to the sound of 'he's been Mummy' ! - oh wait, no I don't.....

Been up since 7. Teens wont surface till about 11. Im having a coffee and toast then off for a 10k at 8:30. Back for a shower then present. Bucks fizz and pig out

I'm sat with a coffee watching the news.
Dd1 has phoned before she starts work .
Dp and Dd2 are still sleeping.
Going to have salmon for breakfast and a walk before I make dinner later .

I'm up! Stockings distributed (three adults, one child). I thought child had stirred, turns out they were just rolling over in their bed. All adults bar myself are still snoring away. The cat has now been fed. I'm enjoying the peace and quiet as, once the first person wakes, that's it until bedtime!

Morning and Merry Christmas! 🎁 Currently sat in bed with DD2 and DH snoring at the side! Waiting for DD1 to wake up and then downstairs we go to see if the big fella has been! DD2 has decided she’s giving them until 8am and then she’s waking them up! 🤣

I'm th only one awake here too, dog woke me up by jumping on my feet.

Dc (21, 19, 18) are still asleep as are dh and mil. Darent get up for coffee or anything yet. Going to have to pee soon though!

Merry Christmas everyone!!
I'm currently the only one awake. Both dc and oh still sleeping. Ds4 was up at different intervals, lots of bed hopping through the night. Should probably catch some z's whilst the house is still sleeping but I am too excited! Been down to turn Xmas lights on, turned my dd7's lights on her little Xmas tree.
Come on kids mommy's excited !

I've been awake since 7.15. Now 8 and still no one up in my house (DH, DC 14 and 11 all still fast asleep). Am enjoying the peace while it lasts

Thanks everyone! Yes we have a 3 yr old DS too who gave us a nice lie in till 7am! I feel like a bag of rusty spanners, but both DS currently happy, one playing with a hot wheels car ramp and the other chewing my nipples off, but both are relatively quiet thank god!

DH is at work and teen/adult dcs wont surface until mid morning so i might go back to sleep for an hour or two
