Not the most inventive name but apt I think...

You are definitely not a bad mum @chocolatetrifle, I give in a lot as well. I like to call it choosing my battles.

DS sprinted around for 2 hours in the absolute freezing cold, I though he would be tired out bit no he's sprinting around the house. It was nice to get out though. Just doing DDs bedtime, she's swapped back rubbing for holding her hand which is much better. Now off to do DS, ice got a feeling it's going to be more stressful.

Lifeisnteasy · 21/12/2021 19:13

Hopping onboard! This season’s ‘just go for a walk’ is ‘do some fun Christmas crafts’.

Toddlers and glitter are an unholy mix.

Camomila · 21/12/2021 21:25

Thank you for the new thread @squishymamma

Noo don't burn the puddlesuit @MoreAloneTime literally everytime I take DS2 to the park I see clevere parents with puddlesuited toddlers and kick myself for not putting him in his puddle suit as he falls in giant mud patches Grin

Welcome new folk! Not much to report here - I've been working and DC have been at nursery/DMs/holiday club - day off tomorrow with both DC at home so might go on an adventure on the bus as DS1 loves the bus!

squishymamma · 22/12/2021 09:11

Good morning and welcome @Lifeisnteasy Xmas Smile

@Chocolatetrifle I would call that being a good mum - as @Motherofmonsters said it's about picking your battles. We've had the TV on pretty much 24/7 the past 4 days and I've felt like a terrible mum but DS will (most likely) still grow up to be a functioning human being and probably won't even remember this time Xmas Grin

Hope bedtime went okay last night @Motherofmonsters.

DS is finally well enough to go back to nursery (24 hours fever free), he's definitely teething but I don't think that's why he had a fever...but whatever it was, it's gone now. Don't think it was covid since DH and I had negative tests and since he literally had to be on top of us the entire time I feel we'd probably have gotten it Xmas Grin

A day of cleaning and prepping for Christmas here before my parents arrive tomorrow...still no baby to show them though Xmas Grin I just hope he isn't born on Christmas Day. Betting he will be just for that reason Xmas Grin

Hope everyone has a good day!

@squishymamma, still no baby yet! Glad your DS is a lot better and glad your parents will soon be arriving to give you a hand.

dS2 was up for about an hour and a half at 2.30, I was up and down getting milk, changing nappy pants, the more he drank the more he weed and so on and he kept trying to pull off the sticky strip on the back and sing jingle bells Shock. I needed you @Motherofmonsters to sing twinkle twinkle to get him back to sleep, which he did eventually near 4 and then everyone up then at 6! Happy days! I really need to stop giving him milk in the night.

This morning we've been to church to see the nativity display and actually did some colouring for a little bit where the crayon landed on the paper and not the wall.

How is everyone?

Motherofmonsters · 22/12/2021 14:41

Nothing exciting happening here, it's raining and everyone one has plans/working so we are home. SIL bought them Christmas stamps and a tub of stickers that I've had stashed away for ages so currently have that everywhere. Im thinking it'll be good to have a bit of quiet in between. I'm a tad bored though.

Sorry he was so awake in the night @chocolatetrifle, it's so frustrating when they do that. DD woke up twice, one time was at 4.20 which I was half expecting to be up time but she went back to sleep until 6.20.

I'm glad your DS is feeling better @squishymama, maybe the pre Christmas cleaning will move the baby about a bit and said them on their way

Chocolatetrifle · 22/12/2021 16:48

@Motherofmonsters, it is good to have some home time as long as the conditions are ok, namely no one having squabbles otherwise it's just easier to be out!

We've covered our patio doors in christmas window gel stickers, they've enjoyed putting them up, but in no particular order, so there are no pictures just random gel stickers everywhere.

Tonight I need to tackle the wrapping up once both are in bed.

squishymamma · 22/12/2021 17:09

Water just broke! See you all on the other side Xmas Grin

Motherofmonsters · 22/12/2021 17:23

How exciting, good luck @squishymama, I will be thinking of you. I said the cleaning might do in it! x

Oneborneverydecade · 22/12/2021 17:24

@squishymamma so exciting! Wishing you all the very best

Lostthetastefordahlias · 22/12/2021 18:33

Best of luck @squishymamma!!! So glad its happening for you!
@manysummersago I have a 1 year old too (16months) and its so hard to think of stuff to do - I always end up focusing on my 3 yr old and feeling guilty! Played “volleyball” with a christmas balloon earlier which both entertained and exhausted him though.
Thats a good idea about going to see the nativity in church @Chocolatetrifle I am going to see if I can find one to visit round here.

Camomila · 23/12/2021 08:12

So exciting, good luck @squishymamma !

Chocolatetrifle · 23/12/2021 08:46

Hope you are ok @squishymamma!

How is everyone?

How are the Christmas preparations going?

This morning we are going to the garden centre Grin. Currently my boys are making an obstacle course out of the couch cushions and making a lot of noise. I seem to be developing a headache...

Lostthetastefordahlias · 23/12/2021 14:19

You need to buy shares in that garden centre @Chocolatetrifle! We tried to go to one earlier in the week but there was a line of cars just to get into the car park!
Been to our new house without dc today to measure up for furniture, baby gates etc, we are moving early Jan - anyone got any tips for moving house with little ones?
We painted air dry clay shapes yesterday, going to do the other side this afternoon - thrilling stuff. DD refused all my festive colour suggestions and was determined to do them blue Grin

Hi all!

Have caught up with posts but obviously not in much of a state to reply Xmas Grin

DS2 arrived earthside at 12.15pm today after a much shorter labour - if only it was less painful eh Xmas Grin we're all doing well and DS1 (crazy he's now graduated to having a 1 there!) is loving life at PILs, where he'll probably stay until Christmas Day. Missing him a lot but looking forward to getting to know this new tiny human!

Thanks for all your support and thoughts Flowers you guys are the best random Internet people I know! Grin

Congratulations @squishymamma , so happy for you! Sending you lots of healing wishes. Well done mama!

Chocolatetrifle · 23/12/2021 16:28

Beautiful decorations @Lostthetastefordahlias

I've just trodden on DS1's chocolate Santa, it's now in bits..

Motherofmonsters · 23/12/2021 18:03

Congratulations @squishymamma, enjoy getting to know your new little person.

Oo your in trouble @chocolatetrifle, has he noticed

Lostthetastefordahlias · 23/12/2021 18:07

Congrats @squishymamma!! Well done - hope you can get some rest! What a wonderful way to spend Christmas!
Anyone got any fun Christmas eve plans? I have a to do list from hell, considering sacking it all off and watching hallmark movies with the christmas baileys Xmas Grin

Chocolatetrifle · 23/12/2021 18:17

@Motherofmonsters, he did notice and surprisingly he wasn't bothered!!

@Lostthetastefordahlias, I think I might go to the garden centre Grin.

Motherofmonsters · 23/12/2021 18:22

I've got two Christmas Eve parties tomorrow, the first one is at my mum's with the cousins which is going to be pure chaos. DS is going to be so unregulated. The second one is at PILs for present swapping with all their family so hopefully they will have worked out the chaos before then.

Chocolatetrifle · 23/12/2021 18:24

Bubble machines: I have never realised until recently how great they are. Got our Peppa one on now and it's brilliant. The Tonie box playing Christmas songs plus bubble machine = toddler disco.
(I have had some mulled wine).

Chocolatetrifle · 24/12/2021 19:50

Happy Christmas Eve, hope everyone is ok and had a good day.

We did go to the garden centre again and had some breakfast there.

We've had a drive around after tea to see the lights , just tracked Santa on NORAD and our turkey has just come put of the oven ready for tomorrow.

Just need to get the boys to bed....
