Do you recognise names on here?

I saw someone call someone out a while back for mentioning something they had previously said on another thread, calling them creepy or something to that affect and it just got me thinking.. By now, I have been lurking and posting for such a long time that I do in fact remember many names on here and certain things they may have said in the past. I have been told I have a remarkable memory at times, but I never realised this made me creepy!

So, do you recognise names on here and remember certain things you have seen from them on other threads or am I just an oddball? Grin

@NoSquirrels

I recognise people whose opinions I tend to agree with, who write reasoned opinions/advice, or who have a very specific posting style (sometimes even though they name change).

If it helps OP - and I realise this could go either way! - I don’t recognise your name/style at all.

I mostly don’t namechange because I CBA. And as I’m answering as myself, I don’t need to remember background etc. so it’s easier just to keep one name. On here, my ‘persona’ is just an opinion, when all’s said and done.

I recognise your name but nothing specific I have seen you say. I get good vibes though, so I'm pretty sure I find you reasonable!

I totally see why they allow name changing though. I don’t do it myself but for example say you’d posted loads about your marriage problems with your husband - one of those threads where the op finds her husband on gay swinging sites or something. You’ve also posted that you live in Yorkshire. Then you want to post about your quite niche hobby - you’re a live action role player who has a specialty in fencing. I can see why you wouldn’t want people to recognise you from your hobby to know about your deep and personal marriage problems.

I remember a few names, especially ones who i often find myself agreeing with but i wouldn't really recall anything they have posted. I am here a fair few years and have had the same name from day one.

There are some prolific posters whose names I recognise but actually, because of the way the posts are formatted here, I generally don't even read usernames as I scroll through threads. It could be the same person talking to themselves for 20 pages and I doubt I'd notice.

Yes - there are some names I remember because of threads/posts they've made before, or subjects they've written about before. Also by their writing style. In fact I often look out for the more positive posters to read their opinion on something the OP has written. 🌹

@DramaAlpaca

Oh thanks *@AngelonTopoftheTree*, how nice of you. I talk a lot of rubbish but I'm glad my name makes you smile Grin

I vaguely remember a thread where the OP asked people why/how they chose their user names so I do remember yours as I think your son(?) helped you choose it. 🌹

I remember the names of people I tend to agree with, and people I tend to disagree with, but often I'm not sure whether I remember someone's name because I agree with them or because I don't so it's not that useful! Grin

@UpToMyElbowsInDiapers thank you, glad someone shares my silly sense of humour! Oh, and not weird at all Grin

@Newestname002 yes my username is thanks to my son, who on being told he was being a drama llama stamped his foot and announced indignantly that he wasn't a drama llama, he was a drama alpaca Grin I think he was about four at the time. Well remembered!
