I miss Heath Ledger too, He is so cool in that movie.

Last Christmas

NigelWithTheBrie79 · 28/11/2021 01:17

Gwynnies hair sacrifice so we could keep up with which universe we're in
I enjoyed your SD post very much but this stood out. I haven't seen it since watching it at the cinema with my boyfriend at the time. He found the sex scene set to Elton John very discombobulating (no idea if that's the correct spelling or an actual word).
But now I have to watch it again. Also John Hannahs character was an absolute tool.

Upright on sky Atlantic

It’s wonderful

pollywollydoodler · 28/11/2021 01:30

Home For Christmas.. funny, romantic and a lovely grandad..

NigelWithTheBrie79 · 28/11/2021 01:31

Is This Years Love the one that's kind of centred around 6 people who couple up in an interchangeable manner and listen to an explicably large amount of David Gray music?

ZealAndArdour · 28/11/2021 01:48

@NigelWithTheBrie79

Brilliant film, formative for me in my teen years. It was my late brothers favourite film. Always loved that’s scene in the guitar shop with Joan Armatrading playing in the background. Just a wonderful film all round, so many memorable scenes and a brilliant soundtrack too.

@NigelWithTheBrie79
That's the one..lovely film..

@GiantCheeseMonster

Pride. It’s about how lesbians and gay men in 1984 ended up supporting the miners’ strike. It’s brilliant. Funny, sad, moving and has a great cast and soundtrack.
My favourite film ever. Watched it the first time by mistake - best mistake I've ever made😁
Cheesymonster · 29/11/2021 20:42

Four weddings and a funeral.

I also loved Think Like A Man - some real lol moments.

I really enjoyed Last Christmas and Isn’t It Romantic.

WarmSausageTea · 29/11/2021 20:50

And another huge yes to both Pride and Dumplin’.

NC101NC · 29/11/2021 20:51

About Time.
This makes me laugh and cry. I've seen it a hundred times and I still just absolutely love it.

mum2jakie · 29/11/2021 21:17

Mrs Miracle - should be available on the channel 5 hub

ImFree2doasiwant · 04/12/2021 21:33

I'm gradually working my way through these. Can't find About time anywhere, had decided on that for tonight but will have to rethink.

Notting Hill

playmelikeasymphony · 04/12/2021 22:20

Can I vote against Me Before You. It’s portrayal of it being better to be dead then disabled is horrible and wrong.

I’d vote for Coyote Ugly

EmmaOvary · 04/12/2021 22:22

Haven't watched yet but there is a film on Netflix that looks like pure escapism called A CAstle For Christmas

@LemonViolet

About Time Me Before You PS I Love You

Btw, I think it’s a MN rule that whenever Love Actually is mentioned we have to post this link to ruin it for everybody jezebel.com/i-rewatched-love-actually-and-am-here-to-ruin-it-for-al-1485136388 (it’s all fucking true)

That’s just vulgar. The necromancy and time travel thing. Disgusting and disrespectful.
