I love these type of threads so thought I’d start one to hear everyone’s plans this weekend.

We are having a relaxing day at home tomorrow then out for dinner tomorrow night for a friends birthday meal at a local Chinese restaurant. Then Sunday it’s our towns light switch on so we are taking baby to see the lights as it’s her first ChristmasSmile

Parents, sister and nephew were due to come for the weekend.

However we have fairly thick snow and a lot of the roads are still icy.

And my parents have no power - went out at 8pm yesterday and they've now been told it will be 4pm and earliest today before it's back.

So that's all cancelled.
It's cold, icy and really windy - so dh and I are having a very quiet unexpected day at home.
I've been proofreading DD's university assignment for her - just sent it back to her having made some grammar/sentence structure changes for her.
Dh is watching some marvel film.

I'm now awaiting the hot water to reheat. I have had an unpleasant cough for a while and my chest is now really tight and sore so I'm hoping a hot Bath might help me feel a bit better.

Did some chores this morning, then took DD to drama club and pottered round town. Bought DS some clothes as he's enormous. Had a late lunch of all day breakfast at home and now having a cosy afternoon on the sofa. May nap.

I was out last night for my birthday with my best pal. Went for a cracking curry then back to hers where another friend joined us and brought two bottles of champagne!
Home now and plan is strictly and a takeaway.

Just went to the hairdresser. It's dd2s 18th birthday tomorrow and we're doing a big family meal out. Mil arrived last night and my parents are coming for the day tomorrow.

Going to be a good weekend!

(Though that's my littlest baby 18 now. Feeling a bit wistful about all the years gone by!)

I have been doing some cleaning, OH took the DC out earlier on.

We are all now home and the DC have finally convinced me to put the decorations up.

We are now waiting for a takeaway as we can’t be bothered to cook.

Really not sure what we are going to do tomorrow.

We've all got covid, so all staying in. Managed to clean the kitchen earlier, was too exhausted to do anymore. So been binge watching dynasty on Netflix.

I've just dropped DD2 and two of her friends off at the station - they're catching the train into town. They're dressed in scraps of fabric, huge trainers and are fizzing with excitement. It is howling a gale here and it's freezing!!!

I feel so old Grin

I'm pregnant with our first baby after wanting this for the last 7 years, I plan to stop in warm and safe the roads near me are horrible and it's cold and wet we have no where we need to be and nothing that needs to be done so we're going to snuggle up and watch Christmas films with the dog.

MrsAvocet · 28/11/2021 11:51

Day 2 with no power for us and now it's snowing. Yaaay.....

SpringRainbow · 28/11/2021 11:53

I don’t think we will be getting much done today at all.

Lazy day it is Grin

Well we started the weekend off well, were planning a meal at Wagamama last night after DDs attendance at a birthday party then relaxed day today having nice Sunday roast and doing homework.

What weave actually done...
DD fell over 5 minutes into the ice skating party, breaking her wrist. So I've been in the local hospital since 4pm yesterday and DD is currently in theatre

Oh no @DaphneDeloresMoorhead hope your DD is ok. Have you managed to get some rest? You don't have to say obviously but how old is she?

The original plan for today was I would take our older two skating (!) And DH would take the little ones to the park but we decided to go shopping instead them had a lovely lunch at an independent pizza place. Nice to spend time with just my older ones. Little ones and DH went to soft play.

Home now have had a lovely bath while everyone amused themselves.

Lamb kleftico / rosemary roasties / griddled aubergine / steamed calvero Nero for dinner.
