It's been a while... the return of Mornington Crescent

I haven't played the game for several months, so I'm a little rusty. I'll start cautiously with an inverted half-shunt to

Bayswater

Evening, ladies (and gents) (and neither).

As a left-hander, I am going to use a reverse Mitchell movement and drag you squarely to Elephant and Castle, without even the ghost of a whisper of an apology.

I will however surrender my Rimsky-Korsakov card as a sporting gesture.

RallySooney · 20/11/2021 15:56

Double flip, down bounce twice.

Barking.

midlifecrash · 20/11/2021 22:26

After a long ponder and half a bottle of wine I may finally have the courage to..
Wembley Central?

Have I revoked?

Are you sure that was only half a bottle of wine?
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/11/2021 22:43

Just a polite reminder, Empressaurus, that any player who interjects without playing a move renders themselves in Nidd until such time as the Metropolitan Line is converse. We’ll have to be stricter in future.

You have left me no choice.
Fellbrigg's Third Principle means I go for Bank.

Cuck00soup · 20/11/2021 22:51

Hmm. So tricky to decide whether to risk a slight renaissance cluster or whether to go all out for a Wellington straight under the November exemption.

Vauxhall.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/11/2021 23:00

Wow! I didn’t see that coming. It’s Saturday night and the Colonel and I are on our way to an all-nighter in the absinthe bar, so

Willesden Green

comfortablyfrumpy · 20/11/2021 23:00

Whoa. You can't use Wellington straight under a November exemption. That directly contravenes Gregg's Convention.

For safety I am going with High Street Kensington, in the hope that Robinson's Rule won't be invoked.

comfortablyfrumpy · 20/11/2021 23:01

Sorry Maud, cross posted.
Willesden Green is an inspired move. I bow to you.

midlifecrash · 20/11/2021 23:13

As Robinsons rule is not invoked I believe I can finesse?
Embankment

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/11/2021 23:27

Thank you, comfortablyfrumpy. A chance remark of the Colonel's today reminded me of the thrilling denouement to the Caracas playoffs in '98, so I took it from there.

Walthamstow

OP posts:
KatherineofGaunt · 20/11/2021 23:33

I haven't played in a long time, so I hope I can join and please forgive me for any faux pas I may make.

But I believe I can continue after Walthamstow with a double-looped switch, à la Dinglebert rules, and head for

Roding Valley.

midlifecrash · 20/11/2021 23:36

(Sharp intake of breath as spectator as it is not my move. Pass me a cachet faivre if you would be so kind)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/11/2021 09:51

Good morning, all. Just to remind you that, as it’s Sunday, the Victoria line is wild.

Oops, sorry.

Since the Metropolitan line is now converse after your move, I’m coming out of Nidd and will play a classic Skipton’s Double with Morden.

comfortablyfrumpy · 21/11/2021 11:26

Ooooh masterful move there...

As it is Sunday, I am going to go with Ealing Broadway - normally that would be against the Norwich Rule but it is the weekend so I will risk it....

midlifecrash · 21/11/2021 12:19

So I’m stymied.
Hampstead Heath

PlanktonsComputerWife · 21/11/2021 12:26

Développé, développé, pas de chat, sauté, sauté, le running bomb.

Side-pedal on a penny farthing to Gospel Oak.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/11/2021 12:31

Leafing through the 2015 codicil to the Amalgamated Compendium, I come reluctantly to the conclusion that the only move open at this juncture is

Surrey Quays

OP posts:
ElfYourself21 · 21/11/2021 13:31

Now is clearly the time to invoke the Framlington Feint and play...Uxbridge!

safariboot · 21/11/2021 15:10

Now this is getting feintly ridiculous. As you know full well, the only option from Uxbridge that's outside the resultant exclusion tone is Heathrow Terminal 4.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 21/11/2021 15:23

Right. That’s the second time Heathrow Terminal 4 has been played in just under 24 hours so that, I believe, puts safariboot AND ElfYourself21 in Nidd - one for going there & the other one for making it necessary.

I’m going to step well out of danger with East Ham.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/11/2021 15:47

What? Have you forgotten the Featherstonehaugh Ruling of 1934? Its effects are still binding, which drives me to

Oval

OP posts:
ElfYourself21 · 21/11/2021 17:57

Clearly my honourable friend is speaking utter poppycock and I shall canter into Aldwych with a hey nonny no.
