Bloody Amazon and Visa

From 2022 Amazon will no longer accept payment from U.K. registered Visa cards due to the cost. They will accept a visa debit, but I’m not doing that due to the lack of protection.

Bye bye Amazon. Not more ££ from me.

Hopefully if the other companies carry on accepting visa it won't be at the detriment to all customers. Would be easy to change systems to pass on a service charge for visa customers. Smaller retailers used to do a card fee or a minimum spend to make it worth their while.

@PrincessNutNuts I guess it affects everyone but Amazon is a big enough fish to risk the hit, whereas smaller sellers are just having to suck it up along with every other little price rise?

Some businesses like a local hairdressers might stop taking credit cards altogether.

But its difficult to imagine that large multi-nationals will.

It will just make everything more expensive for us as these increased costs are passed on to the consumer.

And then pass the costs onto us as usual.
